You may well be right Ash. He certainly prefers sneaking over the back fence to knocking on the front door when it comes to titles.

Golovkins ring craft and ability to load up combination's with both hands will see "The Pioneer" not make it to the ninth round if this fight happens.

Jab, overhand right and "The Pioneers" biggest weakness, the left hook will simply be to much.

"The Pioneer" can shoulder up, use his forearm and duck over extending to the canvass as much as he likes.

Golovkin is the rising star and it is going to take more than a "B" level international boxer like "The Pioneer" to stop him from continuing to build a formidable resume.

Golovkin hasn't been in a 12 round fight before, mundine has been in with big punchers before and the fights when he's been in most trouble are the ones where he obviously had little respect for his opponents power and not the supposed "monsters" like echols, green and kessler. He's not gonna have a war unless he's forced to, he's gonna box and spoil.

Golovkin has fought in a 12 rounder.

Box and spoil....lol....is that what you'd call doing nothing and hoping like hell for a decision. Like that has worked in the past against the "the big punchers".

Golovkin is to neat and a big puncher with both hands...."The Pioneer' gets worn down and retires in his corner or the towel gets thrown in.

Golovkin will have a night out on the "B" level skills "The Pioneer" brings to the ring...:good

He hasn't gone 12 rounds is what I meant, he's only been 8 if he can't get get "the man" out of there he'll need early rounds in the bank, mundine should take the early rounds and the late rounds. Box and spoil would be the smart plan like against echols.
Mundine hasn't quit so that notion is plucked straight from dreamland and I doubt Tony Sr is gonna turn all buddy mcgirt and become towel happy.

People see this as a step up for mundine but he's a 2 weight 3 time world champion, golovkin is the one stepping up and rest assured "the man" will push him back down the stairs.

It would be great if Mundine does finally step up and have a go against top quality opposition. Sad thing is he should have done it a long time ago.

The reality now is that anyone of world class with KO pop is going to worry the aging, and rarely tested against quality opposition, Mundine.

His other-side-of-peak evasive skills and diminished power simply won't keep quality opposition away for 12 x 3 minutes, and logically, an Okke-like experience awaits.

coincidentally if he doesn't take this fight, it could end in an ottke like experience for his mass departing fans :dead

Great fight if it is indeed made.

You would have to think Mundine's camp will win the purse bid, especially given Golovkin's current promoter issues.

I think the more important side of this bout is the opponent not the title. If Choc can't get Sturm in the ring, Golovkin is the next best option.

Hope the fight is made in the States as it will serve a strong introduction to the global stage for Mundine.

As 20a87 said before, this is a bigger step up for Golovkin. People always spruik the undefeated fighter and say they are the future ruler of a particular division.

In theory, Mundine should be the bookies favourite. But based on the posts on this thread, I imagine he will go in as the underdog like against Echols.

Mundine definitely can and should win this fight!

Golovkin has way to much ring smarts to be beaten by mundine. Golovkin is excellent with his timing and distance and wont plod forward like geale did to much. Hope this gets made though i can see universum making a bid next thursday and winning, then its gonna get messy.

On an unrelated topic, Dominator, can you confirm you are NOT Mark de Mori?

Be great if Choc & Khoder took the bait. Golovkin would destroy him.

Unfortunately I've got more chance of winning Lotto than this fight ever happening.
