Great to see Mundine make this happen and to do the fight in Germany shows real confidence.
I think he will try and get some rounds out with Taylor to see how his weight handles it.

    From boxingtrashtalk.com:

Felix Sturm vs Anthony Mundine Set For The 11th of July? In Germany. On The Same Card As Valuev vs Chagaev!
    Saturday, January 17, 2009 by andy112

Felix Sturm (31-2) is set to fight Anthony Mundine (34-3) on the 11th of July at the Nuerburg ring in Germany. Mundine, a former 2 time WBA Super Middleweight champion is the mandatory contender to Felix Sturm, the current WBA Middleweight champion. Mundine looks likely to fight Daniel Geale (20-0) or another top 10 contender, before his bout with Sturm. According to another source, Universum is planning Valuev vs Chagaev to be on the same card.

With two world title bouts, its likely this card will be picked up by either HBO or Showtime, and shown on a delayed telecast. Sturms opponent has not been named. But according to WBA regulations he needs to fight his mandatory within 9-12 months of his last fight. His last bout was in November, a unanimous decision over Sebastian Sylvester (29-2).

Thus, the card would need to include a defence against Mundine, or he would have to fight the Australian just six weeks after this proposed July bout. Making us here at boxingtrashtalk presume the opponent is definetely Mundine. This promises to be the best middleweight match up of 2009. With Abraham vs Pavlik unlikely to happen.

Assuming this is a goer, it's Mundine's chance to finally put up or shut up.

Good stuff...Sturm is better then I often give him credit for but he is certainly beatable. The best Ive seen of Choc would beat Felix..Its just its very interesting to see how Mundine handles the weight seeing as though he is still yet to fight there!

As **** as he has looked lately, I think if he shows no ill effects from the weight he will bring home the bacon.

Id be suprised is Showtime or HBO pick up this card.

    Me too.
Isn't 'Boxingtrashtalk' the snapperhead who was here a few months back sprouting off a pile of garbage about his hero.

Beat me to it Sox, good news if true but a warm up vs Geale then Sturm in Germany all seems just a bit too fanciful to me.

Im really doubting they will let Choc fight twice more, to risky if they are counting on him to be ready for that date...I also dont have much faith in fights that are supposedly "signed and sealed" so far away from the fight date. Seen that go up in flames many times because frankly **** happens.
