Mundines Middleweight Ranking

i always though u had to have fought in that division to get rated there.

 

i suppose $$$$ can buy u any ranking u want

 

He wont be in the Top 10 at Middleweight unless he beats a legitimate top Middleweight contender at least inside the top 12-13 in most peoples opinions. i.e. John Duddy, Sebastien Demers, Giovanni Lorenzo, David Lopez etc.

 

so why does david haye have such a high ranking in HW then?

He had the WBC belt at cruiser, so they rated him at Heavy because he told them thats where he will fight next.

I expect Mundine to get a top 15 WBA middleweight ranking.

The WBA will rate Mundine highly im sure too Marcus at Middleweight. :yep

Mundine has not fought at Middleweight & in my mind, he has to beat a decent Middleweight at that weight limit to even qualify legitimately for Top 10.

No knowledgeable experts have Haye inside their top 10 at Heavyweight, as he has only had 1 fight at that weight class.
Give the sanctioning body some money & loyalty & of course they will rank u highly at watever weight limit u want.
Thats why they are all a joke.:deal

 

Just to clarify, you do not need to fight in a division to have a high ranking. Sancionting bodies who have you ranked in other divisions, usually rank the fighter in a fairly similar position within surrounding divisions should they move. A great example is Joan Guzman, who will be ranked number 1 even though only just moving up from the 130 division.

 

Yeah and this would be the case with Mundine i think.

He wouldnt drop a belt unless he was guaranteed something.

What that guarantee is will most likely be realised towards the end of the year one hopes.

 

This will definitely be the case. He is a massive $$$$$ earner for the WBA also. He will certainly be ranked in the top 5, no question. I personally wouldn't be suprised to see him being even a number 1 contender, considering he is the champ stepping down.

 

Yeah one would think Mundine would have made a good deal with the WBA and should get a top 10 position.

I think he will go for Taylors PABA title and that will send him to number 1 ranked contender next in line for the title shot.....time will tell.
