It's not a question of colour as in the normal use of it. Many words are used out of context to stigmatise people. Black people were stigmatised as savages, then 2nd class citizens then useless bludgers. From this, calling someone a N1gger emphasised their presumed worthlessness. A Black ****/bludger/******* etc. had the same connotation. This centuries old inherited sub-human treatment by Anglo-saxons etc. has left deep wounds that are slowly healing. When a black fella calls his mate a black ****, it's a personal entitlement because there is a history of equality behind it. When a white fella has earned the respect & trust from the indigenous groups, that the term is completely & utterly devoid of any derogatory reflection or past victimisation, then it's regarded as an affectionate address. You cant use those terms unless you understand the pain of those centuries of treatment., & I doubt Anglo's ever will JMO
Yeah Im with Tahu on this one aswell. We have all played sport with different races Yes. Well i put it to you like this if you were standing next to a team mate that was a aboriginal would you say if you were playing another team and they had a aboriginal or a islander in there team. Would you say to your team mate a want to smash that black ****. In the sheds what do you think would happen. Lets be honest now. Your team mate if he had morals would smash you in the head. The year is 2010 not ****ing 1990 Andrew Johns thats all i will say. Whats that teach young fans playing sport in the game if Tahu didnt say something. Thats its ok to call someone whatever you want on the sports field. Im more thinking towards the younger fans.
You are the dumbest most vile piece of **** i've ever come accross sally, you've played rugby league, go **** yourself you have, your trully a ****ing molusk! Go and dry hump pauline hanson you hatin *****! You claim you are every race to excuse your pathetic lack of knowledge and intolerance and every time you post its plain ignorance and with no valid point! Have a warm red batch you dirty slut
Spot on! Well done for Tahu, if he had of played Johns would never have had to be accountable and it would have been swept under the rug,, unacceptable
If anyone wants to write rubbish about " what they've been through ", dont bother. I hardly think anyone in this generation would have a clue ( meaning its not the oldies who are doing the moaning ), compared to their prior generations. That goes for Aboriginies, Africans, Coloured yanks, Jews and so on. To many soft cocks in society now, and it wont get better. Even immigrants were tough, now they are babied and encouraged to act the sook.
Geez, Tahu seems to have really gone after Johns with his video release saying it's been going on for years and aimed at many other players.
Probably. But guess what, Tahu wanted it that way. He asked team management to cover it up by saying he had a hamstring injury. Not sure how he wanted to make a statement whilst also wanting the whole thing covered up. If they had of agreed to his wishes, his stance doesn't go any further than the NSW team.
Tahu does seem to have dramatised it all more than was necessary, now saying he's doing it for his kids etc. He's making it sound like Johns was persecuting him for years at Newcastle, when he was too young and green to speak up for himself. All his talk about how Aboriginal players of previous years virtually hid their heritage (Daley etc) seems like revisionism to make an excuse for why he's coming out with it all now. I can't help but think Mundine is somehow behind this, he's been in Tahu's ear, just like he was in SBW's ear, spreading dissent.
