and the one Johns boy with real talent for the screen they kick out like a rabid dog for having sex with a groupie slut like any horny young male would What Tahu says about an existing bias against Aboriginal players in rep teams has some merit imo. Atleast when it comes to the NSW RL. I've seen guys like Mundine, Blacklock, Merritt, Preston Campbell, Soward get snubbed when their play deserved rep honors. Jennings looks like the next in line. I think there is a perception within the NSW establishment that abo players are a liability because they are less intelligent on the field than their non-abo contemparies, no racist. If they are not big to compensate for that, they never get a look in. That's how I see it Anyway, Tahu is being a sook. He should have socked Joey one and ended it there. This is what happens when players instead of feeling privileged to wear the NSW jersey have more a sense of entitlement due to this bigoted selection policy which favors certain players.
I would like to know the context behind the so called "slur". I don't know whether Johns was being racist, or just caught up in the moment and just saying something before he thought it through. I don't think there has been an all white Australian team (racist slur intended on them white ****s.) since the 60's or 70's. I can't agree that naming colour of skin and then a name is used for everything in Australia living, and often not. Aboriginals call people "white ****s" all the time without fear of persecution, so why should it be any different? However saying something directed at someone in a derogatory fashion like "you ****ing black ****!" Notice the use of the pronoun "You" as the term to indicate direction and intent. Is racist as ****, and I do not condone it, however I'm sick of hearing Aboriginal's of this generation saying they are hard done by, they get more benefits then politicians ffs and they still choose (And again I'm talking about people from my town) to be little thieving, aggressive, vandalising mongrels with no sense of morals and dignity. I don't dislike them for being black and getting hand outs, it's the least our country can do for the Indigenous population. But when they abuse these benefits it really rubs salt in the wounds and just makes you extremely angry.
No of course not because that statement is one of malice with an intent to abuse and villify, focusing SPECIFICALLY on racial and socio-economic attributes. Its not a throwaway generalisation like johns made when he was fired up and short on words..

Looks like the planets are in alignment because I actually agree with ashlea on this one Whether the term used by Johns was intentionally racist or not, the fact remains it was a remark making reference to someone's skin colour. I personally steer clear of using any derogatory remarks that could be construed racist in any possible way. If I had used that term I would have felt I had used a racist term. No amount of excuses or justification would change that.
but its ok for mundine to call green a cra cker? How is that not ****en racist - he's a hypocrite. And in a press conference! As i said you can only be racist if your white. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/mundine-bites-back-at-green/story-e6freuy9-1225806992003
I dont condone anybody saying anything racist mate...no way would I support choc in saying that...if he said it then thats no good at all
Johns is not a young silly impressionable player who accidentally said the wrong thing. He holds a position of high standing in the game (rightly or wrongly) and the young players are influenced by what he says and does. That is why Tahu had to take a stand, if unchallenged it gives licence to young players to behave the same way. Tahu's actions are completely understandable, if he challenged Johns nothing would have been done other than a quick apology, if he belted him he would be the villain. Johns has occupied a position of reverence in the game and earns his living because of that but his behaviour has not been commensurate with that honour.
I see your point they never refer to Martin Bryant as ''that ****ing white lowlife who killed 36 people''but if he was black they probably would.still people are racist i have been called a white captain cook **** many times by aboriginals.
great call goodnight and well done ash for agreeing :good has mundine really talked to tahu about this?
I can see merit in what Tahu did but also it is difficult to justify stepping down from such an esteemed privilidge as state of origin is. Having lived in and played football in the NT getting called a white **** is very much standard....it's about taking it with a grain of salt, hardening up and getting on with it. If people expect this language used in the heat of the moment used by blokes more often than not you'll be having a beer with later to be expelled from all levels of sport and society than they are living in a ****ing cocoon. Tahu made a great point......now get on with it.
mate you should listen to him at his press conferences - his was before medley fight as well. Referring to all the "whiteys" as "Crac kers" http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/12/04/2762460.htm I guess after you finish talking to him he says to his mates - "Whats that that crac ker white ****s name again"......
Keep up the good work mate, you'll have Ash in tears soon. C'mon Ash, what have you got to say for yourself? Didn't you say this before - This content is protected
At a QLD training session Billy Slater gets the ball and runs around Inglis, Folau, Thurston, Civoneciva and Thaiday. Mal Meninga yells at Slater 'The cones Billy. I said run around the f*cking CONES!"
