He looked bad at the press day last week, I think making 160 is killing him in a big way and this one thing will give talyor a chance in the fight, mundine is not respecting his body and he mite pay for it big time this year. he is a reflex type of fighter, using his speed and natural athletic ability to win fights and at 33 if you don't respect your body it will bit you in the ase just like it did to RJJ when he tried to go back down to 175 after the ruiz fight at HW

Terrible terrible idea to try and make 160. He's a big strong bloke that will only lose muscle and could pay dearly for it. Kinda makes this fight half interesting

F**KING said it from day one he can't make middleweight and he never will without killing himself. It's just too bad Taylor is not in his prime to make Mundine pay for dropping the weight, Just think if this was Sturm or Pavlik and what would happen.

Pretty amazed to hear the reports.... Mundine is a natural SM/W... yet dropping the few KG's is difficult??? Geez... maybe this will be the only time we see him at MW...

Planning to fight Green at LH/W???

Would be good if someone from the inside could give us the goss on this one.....I thought he was fighting around 74ks in his last 3 fights so another 1.5 kg......dont think it would be that hard.

At 74 kgs he was not weight drained....still could lose plenty of water to get down...vic lost 2 pounds of water before the fight yesterday.

I think he will be fine and will look great on the night.....however I think he should be a SMW because he has lost a kg or 2 of muscle that he needs back on.

was last week walking around at a tad over 74kg.
ask any boxer that is the "easy" part, the last kg is torture!
people forget he played rugby ~ 85kg and was still quick then so as previously menitoned, loss of pure muscle is not good.
saying that, taylor has nothing left so has no chance.

If he is walking round at 74 now then he can lose a few pounds of water and dry out just before the fight.....

When Mundine fights, I would guess that he would be well up in weight into SM/W division.

I have seen many fighters waste to make weight, it creates a terrible angst inside them, weakness, lethargy etc. Some fighters can put 7 lbs plus on, between weigh in day and the next day, and not show discomfort from their great weight loss, and other fighters suffer it to the back teeth.

I am not complaining, but there is much falsity, about weighing in the day before the fight. Allowing weigh ins on the day prior, does provide for liquid to be placed back into the body though, so I suppose in some regard it produces, through its falsity, some safety.

24 hour weighins just for safety, but yes does make a mockery as there can be 3,4 or even 5 KG difference in fighters weights come fight time. Mundine will make weight easy

I believe he actually weighed in 1/2 a kilo over the M/W limit in his last fight... yet still struggles??? He better have a 24 hour pre fight weigh-in organised.... might need the extra time to get the fluid and Carbo levels up.

Mundine will not have a problem with the weight. What's going to pisxs me off is when he gets beat in one of his next few fights at M/W people will use that as an excuse. Mundine is on the slide even without taking the drop in weight issue on board.

Oscar made weight 'easily'. In fact so easily that he was smaller than Pac on fight night. Not trying to death ride Mundine but if he was 74 last week I thought he was already looking dry.
