HOW ABOUT MAIA vs PALHARES!!! PALHARES has no damage!

I'd love to see them in all out grappling with some strikes.

Bisping is going to get demolished. It's not going to be pretty.

Has anyone seen Bisping off his back? Usually very hard to put him there and keep him there. Always hear about how good his BJJ is but never actually seen it in action. He is going to need it thats for sure in this fight.

Well Sonnen hasnt been subbed this year so the odds favour Bisping

Still plenty of time for Bisping to get to deed poll and turn himself into Jeremy Horn. Then Chael has no chance

    A Brazilian passport would suffice

    Not quite.

I mean, Chael is one of my favs, but Munoz deserved to fight for the #1 contender spot after his recent run and I feel bad about him. He always brings it.

That said, I am excited for the Chael/Bisping fight too. Too many people writing off Bisping, he has a good ground game and Sonnen's submission defense isn't his strongest point. Lets hope Chael wrestle-****s him to death.

    ****ed is a STRONG term

Chael's TD's will neutralise Mike's striking, that much is a given, he will end up on his back in all 3 rounds. I think Bisping is good enough on the mat to avoid sustained g'n'p (and Chael's can be described a pitter patter, similar to Mike's on the feet) and scramble back to his feet to get TD again. I do think he's good enough to tie up Chael and make him fight off sub attempts, limiting the damage he'll take. But Im not too sure he's good enough on his back to tap Sonnen, we'll have to see.

This one has got decision written all over it.

Agreed on all points. I don't think Bisping will do sufficient damage while on his feet to get the decision, so I expect Sonnen to get the W because of the takedowns he will score. But we'll have to wait and see, never know how a fight is going to play out.

Both guys fight at a high pace, so if Bisping is fresher in the 3rd, then he may catch Chael being sloppy, but Chael is no Baroni in that department either.

Interesting fight considering both are lacking in top level finishing ability

Agree with all of this Stoo. There is big question marks over how good Bispings BJJ really is. I haven't heard anyone say is bad but I've heard a lot saying its very good. I've not seen him use it for too long. Think off the top of my head he has a good butterfly guard he usually uses just to get back on his feet.

I wanted to see Palhares/Maia as well - but apparently Palhares got the first offer to fight Maia and turned it down. I wonder why?
