That would be a MASSIVE step up in class for Quigg!!! *Ibrahimovic has come on for Barca, let's hope Real get bummed now.
Quigg has looked great I agree...... but against largely sub par opposition. Sticking him in with Munroe at this stage seems an odd move to make, likewise with Booth. I'm usually the one saying 'get on with it' but this seems early. Booth will be looking at European honours next - why not look for a vacant British shot in the next six months?
Good shout BB. I'd like to see Quigg in a 10/12 rounder first. Someone like Matthew Marsh or Mark Moran would be a good test.
it seems if your irish people cannot view you as having a neutral view of munroe and if you do its not because you dont rate his ability because you are in some way defending dunne. so il just say this, this quigg kid will hand munroe his ass on a plate. im serious to say that i reckon he beat him right now but in a year forget about it, munroe doesnt see the 7th round. this guy is a future world champ imo and a legitimate one
yeh i agree totally and if you want to see quigg in a 12 rounder i think you may have to come up with better opposition than marsh or moran
Quigg needs to fight a durable foe that can fight a little over 10 rounds before he tries this. It's not whether he's good enough to face Munroe, thats not the problem, its just a matter of getting that experience in. You don't want to end up losing the fight or getting pulled out because the tank is empty rather than just coming up short. If Quigg can do that then I wouldn't see a problem putting him with Munroe. It's gonna be a few fights before thats possible anyway as Quigg has to get himself in position, in the mean time they should get him some longer distance fights.
now that Munroe is mandatory for the WBC i dont see him making any tough defenses before the title fight so maybe they are just expecting him to vacate if Quigg is forced as mandatory for the european title. i think Booth could go back to bantam as hes better suited to that weight and he could have a rubber match with Napa to unify the commonwealth and British titles. with Munroe moving on and Booth possibly going down to bantam, Quigg might find himself in a british or ebu title fight soon.
Booth's fine at super bantam too. He could make that weight but actually his speed has been a really positive aspect for him at this weight, his movement has really thrown the bigger and usually slower men off. Booth is the kind of guy that can fight at any weight within reason, just wherever he can get a good fight I'd suggest.
