Some of you are so thick. They are both having trouble making CW, they have no other option than to move up Both will be just fine up there and they can have their rematch for all the HW belts so just relax and enjoy the ride.

At 6ft 3 1/2 inches Gassiev is taller than Holyfield, Moorer, McCall and probably as tall as Foreman. So it's not like he's going to be all that vertically challenged.

    No question.
But the jump from cruiser to heavy is always an unknown.

Gassiev's identity might just belong to cruiser; Moorer came to heavy believing he could give and take with the big boys and he never amounted to anything, except a lucky stretch where Evans Field overdid his meds.

We will see how he does vs Usyk; while his punch and tactics were remarkable vs Dorticos, his finish (third knockdown) was rather laborious.
He needs to invest to the body early if he wants to prevail.

I'm already excited about seeing Usyk-Gassiev II at heavy and we haven't seen the first one yet.

He's not even close to being done growing.
Male bone density and structure continues up to low 30s in some instances.
He could potentially carry 230lbs without being soft.

His punch resistance has been proven in fights against Ledbedev, Dorticos while not given Wlod, Thomas or Shimmel a chance to disprove the iron.

Haye and Gassiev are complete opposite. Both great at their game, but I'd take Gassiev 10/10X. And it will take a very fast and powerful iron chinned fighter to crack the granite

Gassiev interview from before the Wlodarczyk fight.

I didn't know Maksim ''The Baddest Man on the Planet'' Vlasov had taken some shots at him - that just makes him even badder considering what a monster Gassiev is. Vlasov debuts at #9 in my P4P top 10 now. :chuck:

'World champion Murat Gassiev told "Gradus of Ossetia" about the World boxing super series in the USA, new ideas for cooks and secret training.

Murat, the whole of Ossetia will be rooting for you in the upcoming duel in the quarterfinals of the boxing super series. Tell me, how is preparation for the battle with Wlodarczyk on October 21?

Normally. A few workouts a day. I'm training physically and tactically for a very difficult battle.

Do you have a special plan?

I have no special plan to fight. You can think about any special plans, but in the ring everything can go differently. But, of course, my coach and I will think through various tactical moves to neutralize the strengths of Wlodarczyk.

Is it worth it for the Vladikavkaz restaurateurs again to bring in the menu the dish "Liver in Gassievski"?

If you're talking about, whether I'll use a left side blow in the area of ??the liver of Wlodarczyk, then, of course, I will. Without this, nothing at all. Well, let the dish remain in the menu. I will try to diversify the menu of our establishments with new dishes, for example, ribs in Gassiev style or chops in Gassievsky style (laughs).

Who, in your opinion, is the most dangerous rival of the eight?

All boxers of the super series are very strong guys and dangerous opponents. The composition of the tournament participants is chosen exactly, so there are no obvious favorites in any pair.

How is the training day in the camp of Abel Sanchez?

I do not have the right to disclose in detail the training process, because every coach does not want his work to become known to others. In short, I can say that my coach pays a lot of attention to physical fitness, endurance, that's why we constantly have cross crosses with heights, different exercises for certain muscle groups, sparring.

You are training side by side with Gennady Golovkin, who will soon have a duel with Saul Alvarez. Does he help you in the ring or advice outside?

Gennady is a wonderful boxer and man, he did a lot for me in terms of my becoming as a boxer. He gives me advice, shows some exercises, but the most important is that Golovkin is an example of how being a multiple world champion, not to lower the bar of demands for himself and train much more persistently than beginning boxers.

Famous boxer Maxim Vlasov said that "Murat Gassiev has a weak technical arsenal." What can you answer to such criticism?

I do not want to answer anything to Maxim Vlasov. I think everyone has a right to his opinion. But at the same time I think it is not very right to give some assessment to my colleagues, and even more so negative. Vlasov is a good boxer, and if he could meet with him in the ring, he would gladly listen to his opinion about himself after the battle. And such disparaging assessments not only for me, but also for other boxers, I leave on his conscience and carry to the excessive desire to PR for someone else's account.

You said that you plan to move to heavyweight. It is known that the transition to a different weight is a rather risky step. Do your intentions remain relevant?

The transition to heavyweight is not a matter of immediate prospects. I think at least a couple of years I will still have unfinished business in my division. So, time will tell.

It's no secret that after your stunning victory over Denis Lebedev, crowds of boys began to register in boxing clubs. This question is specially for them: is there a definite formula for success from Murat?

The formula for success is only one - to work, work, not to be lazy. And then everything will turn out.

Combat McGregor - Mayweather turned into a real show. The organizers created a tremendous hype, gathering a huge audience in the stands and at the screens. From the point of view of boxing, there are no doubts, but can the boxing super series in terms of the show approach this fight?

Mayweather is a master of show organization, and MacGregor is not inferior to this, but we also watched the Usik-Hook fight, and it seems to me that everything is organized very well. I'm sure the next bouts of the super series will be no less interesting. And you correctly said that Mayweather is a McGregor show, and a super series is a real box.

You admitted that if you win, you will give $ 4 million to your mother. Do not you leave yourself a couple of hundred thousand? Surely there is a dream that you want to realize - a mansion on the beach, "Ferrari", a yacht ...

    large

Honestly, I do not think of any millions. For me, the main goal is to become the absolute champion of the world. That's what I think, training several times a day. Believe me, money is not important. But since you touched on the prize money, I will say at once that such a big prize will not remain exactly, because the boxer who won the tournament will have to share them with managers, coaches, assistants and so on. And as for my mother, I think that there is nothing wrong with her being my personal accountant (laughs). Moreover, nothing special I have yet.'

The Usyk fight won't be a measure of what he will be able to do at HW. Nobody at HW is like Usyk. His Dorticos KO may have took a lot of effort and came late but most Heavyweights tire quicker than Dorticos did.

Everyone will be avoiding Gassiev at HW.

Especially if he manages to chop Usyk down and stop him, or drop him on the way to a UD.

A man of 6 foot 3 is not that much smaller than the super HW of 6 foot 6 like AJ or Fury. He is right in the mix.

Deontay would avoid him like he has avoided all of the other threats during his time with the WBC belt. For example, Fury, Wlad, Parker, AJ and even Whyte.

Gassiev's listed height is higher than Usyk's?

    Surprising.

Will be interesting to see how Usyk handles this. An Usyk loss is very much a possibility in my mind.

I know that he was brought in previously as a sparring partner to both wladamir klitlscko and deontay wilder, he said deontay hits alot harder. He also won the gold medal at heavyweight and is the right size for it, so I'd give him good chances

    Quite interesting.

    "Without this, nothing at all"

    No explications needed.

Yet Sanchez lets Gassiev go to the liver but prevents GGG going there by fear of being countered.

Or maybe is there something deeper going on at the negotiating table?....
