Gassiev - has beat Lebedev, Dorticos, Wlodarczyk

Thurman - scraped a win against Porter (gift). and beat Danny Garcia.

both have unified 2 world titles.Yet for some reason most people have Thurman in their top 10 P4P, yet they do not have Gassiev. Very strange to me. Vote in the poll please.

For me Gassiev does. He beat his best opponents clear, no controversial decision needed.

    Since when was Thurman-Porter controversial?

And i would say that Thurman trumps via quantity.

Kinda crazy that Thurman is 5 years older, turned pro a few years earlier, and only has one more title fight (4 vs 3 for Gassiev).

Keith spent longer at the fringe contender level so there is some more depth. Gassiev went to Russia to fight Lebedev.

I can see an argument for both, but Gassiev made up ground in a hurry with Lebedev and Dorticos.

Thurman used to be a long way ahead (and he still is a little ahead, since guys like Guerrero, Bundu, Soto Karass, Chaves help him edge it on quantity) but Gassiev is catching up fast. A good fight vs Usyk would put him ahead in my books.

Hmm. Thurman certainly has the deeper resume but I think Gassiev has the better wins. I don't put too much stock in a Garcia win at 147 in all honesty.

    I'm in the same boat.

It's close enough that a top opponent either way (Usyk, Spence) would swing my vote

Thurman only just edges it for me.. Guerrero is another good win he has then he has couple decent wins in Collazo etc.
Wouldn’t be surprised if this changes 1 yr from now. Thurman not really wanting to fight anyone challenging and Gassiev is boxing Usyk

Since forever lol. There is a reason the crowd booed the decision like that. You don't win a match by curling up in a ball and getting punched for the majority of the rounds.

Thurman by a mile. Even if Gassiev beats Usyk I'd still have Thurman ahead, since Cruiserweight is such a weak division.

    Top wins:
Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, Chavez, and Guerrero.

    Good wins:
Soto Karass - coming off knockout win over Berto going into the Thurman fight.

Bundu - Undefeated and just defeated Frankie Gavin going into the Thurman fight.

    Gassiev:

    Top win

Lebdev - Good win, but very close. The knockdown edged it for Gassiev, but he started dropping rounds later in the fight.

    Good win:

Dorticos - Tall with a good reach, but no punching power or chin and unproven going into the fight.

It's gassiev for me Thurman has beat alot of faded fighters and struggled big time when fighting anywhere near world level and Garcia on paper is a good with but his record is full of holes on paper Thurman beat a unbeaten two weight champions but to alot of people he lost his titles at light welter and then lost to Peterson two guys that are nowhere near elite and then beat Guerrero who was losing to any half decent fighter he fough for a welter title which I don't think anyone understands how that was a title fight and then Thurman to alot lost to Porter

As you see above I have it for Thurman too, but:
    - how is cruiser a weak division? It's one of the very best.
    - how does Dorticos have no power or chin? Clearly he's got a very good chin, and his KO record speaks for itself.
