:good. Besides, the set-up is surreal enough as it is - 'Would you like a little blood splatter on your hor d'oeuvres, sir?'. :D

Still.. if pharmacological assistance is required I'm sure I can rustle up something - now I've just got to figure out how to get to Vladikavkaz.

Gassiev just flattened French CW champ Karakaplan (why does that make me think of ekranoplans? - always a Russian connection somewhere) in 99 secs.

One of his better wins to date (on paper at least) and he looks to be fighting again in a month - good to see the kid keeping busy.

Sadly this fight didn't take place in possibly the fight fans' perfect eatery, but in another Vladikavkaz venue, though I still have high hopes of one day watching a few bouts while enjoying traditional cuisine at the Zolotaya Korona.

I think Dorticus pulled out for some reason. I think he's injured.

Is he packing glass? I actually thought this Gassiev's people were a bit crazy for sticking him in with someone like Dorticus given his young age and Dorticus' vast amateur pedigree. Gassiev is only like 21 or something so he can't have had that much of an amateur career, certainly not to rival Dorticus'.

He was dropped once and since he's Cuban its a definite possibility:yep I hope they call it off too and let Gassiev get some more experience before he fights someone like Dorticos.
