It was ok, but against a very limited opponent. Gassiev's power for sure has carried up. He might not be the biggest puncher at the weight, but the way he picks his shots and connects to the target he'll hurt and drop a lot of guys, much like Povetkin did. I'm still worried that he doesn't really seem to have developed his jab and head movement; he still relies way too much on his high guard to walk guys down. That might work against fighters a similar height to him, or those poor at controlling range, but at a certain point it'll be a major liability for him. I'm not too keen on how heavy he's been coming into the ring either. I always guessed he'd blow up a bit and become one of those stocky Medzhidov types of guys, but I think a fighter of his style would do best at a lighter weight where he can maximise his speed, agility and workrate (as in not letting this latter drop any lower than it currently is at).
