Gassiev will win rather easily i think, he ,s a worldclass boxer and did beat some very decent fighters

    Usyk opponent vs Fury opponent

    East vs West

    Cruiserweight vs heavyweight

    Puncher vs boxer

    Orthodox vs southpaw

Wallin should win but 70-30 favourite Gassiev is likely a significant A-side. The ring will probably be small and Wallin may not get the decision even if he deserves it, so he'll have to take more risks to score points.

I’m thinking he will. Call me crazy but I think Murat is hitting even harder at Heavyweight. Yeah he might be rusty and the timing might be off the first few rounds but that power of his is a game changer.

I’m thinking body shot after getting Wallin preoccupied with worrying about what he felt upstairs. Even Gassiev’s blocked shots are nasty from what sparring partners have said.

Wallin has never impressed me. Too upright, no head movement, flat footed, lacks power. he's gate keeper level at best. Gassiev probably gets out worked early but once he starts going through the gears, he takes over and batters Wallin.

    Otto Wallin’s professional career

Retired Granat (UD12), domestic grudge match, pre-fight odds being 50-50

Went the distance against lineal champion Fury, lost 9-3, was a 12/1 underdog

Retired 2x title challenger Breazeale (UD12), fighting away from home in America

Ducked by 70-30 favourite Whyte, who pulled out 10 days in advance of their fight in London

Scheduled to fight former unified cruiserweight titlist and 70-30 favourite Gassiev

Never dropped or stopped in 27 pro fights

I don't agree, Soko did nothing. But if so, it will make Gassiev (and thus cruiserweight) look crap if Wallin's even competitive, let alone wins.

Here's the catch, neither did Otto. At best it was a draw, but in no way did Otto win. Hey, 2 can play that game, the same thing can be said about Fury. He looked like crap and barely eked out a decision an probably should've lost by TKO, against a guy who lost to Kamil Freaking Sokolowski.

If you want to play make believe that's fine but in reality Wallin won his zero-damage week notice sparring session 79-74. And if he beats Gassiev, he'll have a better win than any cruiser from several years ago save Usyk.

It's pure wishful thinking to believe Gassiev is going to even be 75% of what he once was after all the injuries and inactivity and the very low level he's been campaigning at in those four fights he's had in the last five years. I freely admit I'm guilty of it myself but I'm not expecting the percentage to be that high.

He looks bloated at the weight and he's obviously not been serious about his career for a long time. But he does have that murderous power which gives him a chance against anyone and I believe in his power.

I expect Wallin will follow the Usyk blueprint against an obviously significantly worse version of Gassiev and will outbox him and he will be ahead on the cards when Gassiev hopefully catches and drops him with something huge and then takes him out shortly afterwards.

If this was the prime, active Gassiev of old I'd pick him via KO without hesitation but I can easily envisage Wallin boxing and moving to a UD.

But I'm sticking with Gassiev via KO

Wallin will probably be very negative and look to spoil like he usually does. He's not dumb enough to go head to head with Gassiev. I'm thinking it'll be competitive and likely go the distance, but Gassiev from 2016-2018 shows up in seek and destroy mode that prediction could far off the mark. Inactivity coupled with Wallins own gameness is hard to ignore for me anyways. I just hope it's a good fight and doesn't turn into a negative bore fest.
