Gassiev is only 24, he is here to stay regardless of his fight against Usyk.
That tournament has been great, good fights, good production, top fighters and the final will be insane.

 

Gassiev had a nice guard. He blocked very well to the head, and showed great discipline under fire. Very Winky Wright esq, the way he blocked punches to the head and body. Very effective defense. One misplaced glove and his head would have been in the fourth row. Also like the handspeed and combination punching on the inside.

I was impressed with gassiev's defence. He parried and slipped brilliantly. Almost reminded me of Julio Cesar Chavez

 

Usyk looks like he's put 20lbs. on this week. He looked all of 225 there

 

Much credit to Dorticos for giving it hi's all to the bitter end

 

Yes, he's really good. IB and CST have been hyping him for a while.

Dorticos did really well too, he's sharp and has good power and a great chin. Just lost to the better man tonight, but no shame at all, he can hold his head up high!!

 

Dorticos shipped some real punishment, very very tough guy but should be checked out in hospital.

 

Between fights Usyk is usually at 220 lb or so, that's his natural weight I believe.

 

Gassiev is one of my favorite fighters of today. He executed the perfect game plan. He sapped Dorticos power and used an arsenal of punches. Love his fighting style.

 

Gassiev just paced himself better, he didn't do much in the early rounds and he's far more economical than Dorticos, he didn't waste a punch, when he let his hands go, he landed and landed hard. Dorticos was throwing a lot but wasn't landing with the same accuracy and power as Gassiev and so punched himself out.

 

I didnt say he "is", I said that I wouldnt be suprised "if". I dont like when people say this one or that one is on blablabla. I wont do it, or at least I will try not to do it. But tonight gassiev's physical performance is a brutallity. I dont care if you start slow or not, usyk starts slow, and a lot of fighters do that, but you dont have the same snap and power in round 12, no matter how you started, period.

 

Look at this pathetic moron trying to save face after he claimed that the ones who had Gassiev winning were blind.

 

Yup, not a bad comparison. Ross Purritty was also great at absorbing hard hitting guys best with his gloves high guard, when I think of recent fighters anyway.

 

Gassiev is a thing of a beauty.

Dorticos' chin also made me fall for him a bit.
