Good point I know the last punch missed big as he was on way out but I thought he caught him with a chopping shot right before that. I'll have Tocqueville watch when I get home.,great finish regardless

If that first one had of been the fight stopping shot, then yeah it definitely would have been a KO of the year candidate. Who would have thought a guy built like Dorticos would have such a chin. Usually guys built like that, have glass written all of them.

I think he will need a high pressure, high work rate type gameplan to beat Usyk.

There must have been some oil money thrown into the pot. That isn't the most stable or safe place to hold an event.

I have just watched this fight and what a fight. I can't believe I watched the Okolie vs Chamberlain snoozefest live over this FOTY contender. No shame in Dorticos losing this one. Massive credit to both Gassiev and Dorticos. Definitely looking forward to Usyk vs Gassiev now.

The variety of Gassiev was superb - right hands, uppercuts screwshots, body shots, rib shots. Boxing masterclass, he made so many of Dorticos shots land on the gloves, that with the body attack slowed down the Cuban.
Dorticos was a bit one paced, lacked variety and relies on the right hand backhander, he needed to back up Gassiev with body shots and bring the hands down and throw uppercuts when he was backed up.. what a fight though.

Good performances and great haart by Dorticos. Enjoyed that fight and reading the RBR entertainment value as well. Glad one of the fighters had a performance like that, it builds the maximum amount of intrigue for the final that should prove a fitting final for such a successful tournament.

I had Lebedev winning by a point and to all the prisoners of the moment regarding today's fight Lebedev took Gassiev's power much better than Dorticos.

My overall view of how Lebedev/Gassiev turned out was still wrong I will grant you that and I feel Gassiev probably ruined Lebedev as I suspect he did Dorticos.

You do not even like Gassiev you are just using him as a fiol to beat Usyk just like all of you did Breidis so shove your childish sanctimony up your ass this sport is for critical thinkers not petculant children.

    Just excellent pacing.
Keep the rds close while expending far less energy, but making shots count to make up for fighting off the back foot.
I gave all 3 rds that Gassiev spent more than 1/2 the Rd being pushed back to the ropes.

When he countered center ring, or took the initiative, it was easy to score the exchanges.
    Perfect fight plan

There is a full blown war going on across their southern border, complete with Saudi atrocities against the Yemeni civilian population, and the occasional Houthi medium range missile attack well into Saudi territory. For the promotions sake, hopefully Jedda is out of range.

Vlasov's solid showing is(understandably so) taking a backseat after this incredible fight. He's already reeled together several solid wins over gatekeeper tier(top 15-20 world) CW. But where does he go from here? Unlikely he gets the Usyk/Gassiev winner - Maybe the Larena/Kucher winner, Lebedev or Briedis? I'd make him a favorite against Larena/Kucher and if his last outing was an indication of where he stands currently Lebedev as well.
