Ive just watched Chamberlain vs Okolie and Gassiev vs Dorticos back to back this morning. Thank god for that 2nd fight. What a fight. Excellent game plan from Gassiev and Sanchez they took the Cuban very very seriously and rightly so.

Finally got a chance to see this. Quality fight.

Had Gassiev up by three going into the final round and was really impressed with his poise and creativity. The combination that he hurt Dorticos with in the 11th was absolutely splendid.

Was impressed by Dorticos's chin and heart, but not surprised at all by it. I think he could and should have varied his attack more, but the fact that he had success with the jab early on probably led him to believe that the right behind it would be available as the fight wore on. Unfortunately for him, it never really was-especially from the 9th round on.

So, as of right now, the cruiserweighs have produced the two leading contenders for FOTY. I think Usyk-Gassiev might well produce a third.

 

That's a very short sighted attitude. You question the possibility of prejudice motivations then give a prejudiced explanation of why the domestics newtorks passed on the fights.

The mantra on this board and others is how real boxing fans should only care about the fighters and not where the participants are from.

The 4 cards were pretty uniform. They mostly gave the first four rounds to Dorticos plus either the 7th or 8th. With the rest to Gassiev. They’re posted at the seen.

 

I agree with that Matra, Kevey, I also feel that money should grow on trees, It would free me up to do a lot of wonderful things Monday-Friday 8-5, but as of yet, I haven't found it to be true.
