I would've converted lol. But yeah, that is a difficult situation and one that unfortunately there isn't an easy solution to.

Yeah it's a great fight. I'll be very surprised if it goes the distance too. To be honest, it's not a fight I've ever really liked for Gassiev since they were first due to meet a couple of years ago. He's only been boxing 8 years and he had a very limited amateur career, whereas conversely Dorticos was brought up through the Cuban system and he had about 230 more amateur fights than him. I think that experience in addition to his reach advantage and higher output will make things difficult for him. But Gassiev has that savage power that can put your lights out in the blink of an eye so it's a very dangerous match up for both of them.

Ahhh to old ahead on points only to get blasted out by a vicious shot you didn't see coming prediction....lol I like it.

I believe there's a vast difference in pedigree at the very top level which Uysk occupies at the moment and I'd give Doc a better chance at maintaining a competitive fight with Uysk versus Gassiev which I could envision being completely outclassed if he didn't garner any respect in the first half of a fight with Uysk. Gassiev & Doc both likely lose on points to Uysk but both have great equalizers.

Interestingly enough I remember having heated discussions with her father regarding the Sultan forces influence on western Africa and the great kingdoms of Africa initially hiring mercenaries of Spanish and Portuguese decent to help them fend off the Sultan forces only to then be infiltrated and themselves thus sparking epitome of African slave trade......we used to get into man,

I'm leaning towards Dorticos at the moment, Gassiev isn't busy enough and the Cuban has a nice punch arsenal, which includes a dangerous right uppercut. If Gassiev doesn't have a problem getting past his reach and the steady stream of punches coming his way I'd favour him, but I'm not so sure he's going to be able to do that.

Usyk is a special talent and he's a class or 2 above everyone at the weight, but all 3 of the other semi-finalists carry serious power so even he would have to be wary of that.

lol Maybe he would've altered his perspective regarding his daughter marrying an infidel eventually if you'd stuck with it. Or maybe not lol

How did Gassiev get into the game if he only started Boxing 8 years ago? What's the story there then?

Usyk (not Uysk my apologies to the EE supporters out there) has that rare ability to make subtle yet extremely effective adjustments over a period of 2-3 rounds. The reason I emphasize 2-3 rounds is because you don't want your opponent realizing you've unraveled their mystery so abruptly....Mayweather did the same so did Bhop. I'm a fan of critical thinkers in the squared circle even if technically they can't read lmao.

Gassiev needs to capitalize on Doc's tendency to jump straight back when he's feeling truly comfortable with his combinations. I also give Doc the edge expect I haven't pronounced it just yet since I have placed a bet on the books quite yet.

Not sure to be honest. He's clearly a natural, though. Usyk didn't take up boxing until he was 15 either.

Yeah, good point. Just thought Gassiev was a bit older than 24/5!

Still, 17 is pretty late to get into it. I've seen kids start at 5/7, some at 15. Even then they seem to get fast-tracked.

In all honesty the power of the snatch can be quite persuasive but I'd rather be beheaded live on CNN than submit to his self righteous arrogant arse. The man didn't believe in compromise so that leads me to believe he'd rather live in chaos than accept a good man that would sacrifice his own life for his daughter......not a good dude nothing like good cooked food.

I've been a fan of Usyk's for a long time (since the 2008 Olympics) so I know what he's capable of. He's the complete package for sure. Great guy out of the ring too.

I think Gassiev needs to punch in two's and three's instead of relying on single shots, if he lets Dorticos get into a rhythm it'll make his task twice as hard. I will genuinely be shocked if it goes the distance though. Like really shocked lol

Actually Gassiev was 15 when he took up the sport, so he's been boxing 9 years. He only had 25-30 amateur fights so he's done really well.

Knowing the about of inflammation I've battled in my shoulders the revisionist in me wishes he could cut down the sparring and training to a bare minimum. I'm on a good tumeric and chinese skullcap root regime now that has helped exponentially.
