Kevin Lerena has called Gassiev out, and this is not a bad match at all. Lerena is the current Bridgerweight champ, and has decent to good wins over Kucher, Kalenga, Muller, Mann, Arslan, Wach, and Merhy, and was credible in losses to Dubois and Huni.

Good next step for both men.

It was nice seeing Kudryashov and Gassiev pick up vintage KO wins this weekend. Gassiev still has time to get his career back ln track though. Just needs to stay active and healthy.

He was only 25 when he lost to Usyk.

In the 90s it was not usual, that in some parts of russia newborn were registered later. So it's possible, Murat may be older some years. Maybe he's 34 or 35

At the same time he looked 35 when he was 25. Could well be genetics.
He definitely fights like an old man these days, so there is no way to be certain.

He won't ever get in the mix. He lost to Wallin. I don't understand why people keep hoping this guy will be a champion someday. What's so special about him?

Usyk is not weak to the body, not at all. He got pretty nasty body shots from Fury and it didn't affect him a bit.

    Unified cruiserweight champ.

Power in the hook to the body, power in the hook to the head, power in the uppercut, power in the overhand right.

Been described by several, Chris Arreola for example, as the hardest puncher they have fought/sparred/seen.

    Good chin so far, too.

    Just needs to stay healthy.

You had to be there to undersrand it, the buzz he created him when he beat Lebedev, Diablo and Dorticos. So much so that some diehard fans geniuenly thought he was the 200lbs version of GGG, as crazy as it sounds right now.

Sounds even crazier that he came in the Usyk fight as the betting favourite.

To be clear, I don’t expect him to have a serious impact on the HW scene at this point. But crazier things have happened. Look where Dubois is at right now, after the terrible loss to Joyce and the terrible performance against Lerena.

    Reinjured.

I mean, I am not sure how long you have been watching boxing, but fighters lose fights all the time, even good ones.
