What, you prefer maybe the western capitalist macaroni with cheeses?

He guys...if you could book Gassiev's next fight, who would you get for him?

    My picks would be...

    1. Fighting for bridgerweight title

    or

    2. Charles Martin (former heavyweight titlist, and BIG guy)

I keep forgetting bridgerweight exists. I feel like that would be a bad move for him. A lot of the fuel of his previous momentum was already burnt up into the aether; spearheading an unpopular fledgling division isn't going to help center him in the spotlight again. Not in a good way at least. He already verbally committed to being all-in for HW, think he needs to stick to his guns. And like his past announced entries, he should aim high. No picking on a corpse of Liakhovich or anything. Maybe tangle with the likes of Rivas. Somebody on the cusp of serious relevance to feel out the waters. Another bum like Seferi will serve no purpose.

Martin would be okay, I guess.

Thing is, he is 3-4 years off being relevant at heavy. This Fury-Joshua-Wilder-Usyk-Povetkin-Whyte cycle has to work out.

If he is getting big fights at heavy, then stay at heavy. But I am not sure those big fights are going to come so easily at heavy.

It really would have been so much better if he could have taken advantage of the good timing post-WBSS visibility and ridden Usyk's coattails up from CW as the division's two best off to conquer new territory in tandem...striking while The Iron was hot, if you will.

Yup. But injuries are part of the sport, and he is only 27.

The funny thing of it is, I think that given his strengths (power, chin, versitle arsenal) and weakness (movement, defense) he might have an easier time against some of these heavyweight dinosaurs than he would have if he stayed at cruiser. I wouldn't put him in there with Usyk again, or Fury...most of these other guys better watch out for that hook to the body.

Assuming he sheds the mothballs within a tuneup or two and didn't lose too much of his form or mental game to his layoff, I'd favor him outright against the Whyte vs. Ortiz winner.

I'm shutting my brain off because I don't even want to think about what food related double entendre that might be.

I'm not into big burly ultra masculine bears, so hard (because the mere thought of it makes me ultra soft) pass from me.:sisi1

But I do love to see me some Murat pushing other guys **** in... in the ring.:deal:

And spring is far too long for him to wait, if Canelo can come back in February, I don't think throwing one punch against Seferi expended that much energy. He can get his big hairy ass back in there pronto, as in, he should fight before the end of the year, on one week's notice. And throw him in with a barely live body, like Szpilka, he'd make quick work of him. Anything to keep him busy, he's literally just wasted almost two years of his prime.

I really hope he doesn't. Very sad if he does but he has had some horrific injuries the last few years. You can only take so much of that.

A true gent and style that should have him on T.V all the time.
