Which Row would you favor in a head 2 head sense..A great group of fighters both amazing eras..wish the B group would've fraught each other more... Row A Vs. Row B Holman Williams. / Roy Jones Charley Burley. / James Toney Eddie Booker. / Nigel Benn Ezzard Charles. / Chris Eubank Archie Moore. / Michael Watson Jack Chase. / Bernard Hopkins Loyd Marshall. / Mike Mccallum Bert Lytell. / Terry Norris Sugar Ray Robinson. / Michael Nunn Cocao Kid. / Julian Jackson
Yea ur prob right..in terms of greatness it's easy but to me in a head 2 head sense it's a toss up..depends on the match ups I guess..should've done this differently..But we ll see how it goes
The list with Ezzard Charles wins because he's Ezzard ****ing Charles. Oh, and that one guy, Ray Robinson. Him too.
I want to just get the Hopkins one out of the way now. Hopkins is in with someone who he has never seen the likes of before. They didn't call him Jack Chase for nothing. He got that name because he used to chase the fakeness out of fighters who were from the future and only had the benefit of modern nutrition but no actual skills, just like Hopkins. This fight actually happened in fact, an old newspaper report read that- 'Hopkins stepped out of his time machine to fight the truly great Jack Chase, the one who fought when men were men, and steak that only got chewed was steak that only got chewed. Hopkins looked in great condition, but it became clear very quickly that he is no Ken Overlin, and his fancy shmancy protein shakes (whatever they are) can't help him now, because this is a real boxing era. In round one Hopkins clinched throughout the whole round because he couldn't match the phenom Jack Chase. Hopkins then cried all the way home because he is ****' blah blah blah
Holman Williams vs Roy Jones Jr. Charley Burley vs James Toney Eddie Booker vs Nigel Benn Ezzard Charles vs Chris Eubank Archie Moore vs Michael Watson Jack Chase vs Bernard Hopkins Lloyd Marshall vs Mike McCallum Bert Lytell vs. Terry Norris Ray Robinson vs Michael Nunn Cocoa Kid vs Julian Jackson
Row A winners: Burley, Robinson, Charles, Moore Rob B winners: Hopkins, Benn, Jones Jr, McCallum, Jackson, Norris
The only one of those that's difficult to imagine is Williams over Jones Jr., Surf. I could envision any of the others, and in fact the other two I favoured in group B would be very interesting matchups, but how do you figure the smaller, light-hitting Williams would go about beating Jones?
Burley-Toney neither man is really flashing kryptonite there, Burley probably does more so with the good footwork and jab, but he's not going to moving laterally a **** load and Toney will do his work, which is something that's never good for his opponents
