Poor Jimmy Bivins. Not only is he overlooked for a title shot, despite being #1 contender at 175 and heavy - not to mention holding interim championships at both weights - but he's even overlooked on a Black Murderer's Row montage.
Great video but it’s a shame some of the top black murders row like Elmer Ray, Lee Q Murray, Lem Franklin, and Jimmy Bivins were left off.
I don't see Franklin as qualifying and maybe Murray has only a tenuous claim too. Booker,Chase, Wade,Cocoa Kid,Lytell,Towne,Williams, Burley,Marshall, are the usual suspects. Depending on who is doing the writing other names crop up,Ray,Oakland Billy Smith,Bivins,Sheppard,Joe Carter,Charley Doc Williams and two that managed to make it all the way, Moore and Charles. I know nothing about Joe Carter or Doc Williams, and not much about Oakland Billy Smith!
