Speaking on Akhmadaliev, Inoue just commented saying that the need to fight the guy who lost to Tapales is zero. He’s responding to Ak’s ducking comment. So there ya go, zero need. https://www.nikkansports.com/m/battle/news/202412150000724_m.html (Sorry, Japanese article)
ChatGPT translation of his tweet Why should I have to run away from someone who lost to Tapales? There's zero need for that... If you want to fight, keep your win as worthwhile and wait!! Right now, I'm fully focused on the Goodman fight. This content is protected He is just asking MJ to wait his turn (will probably happen next yr in Saudi) instead of attention whoring with ducking accusations
That’s a good response back to MJ. I don’t doubt that we’ll see him against MJ at some point next year. Hopefully after the Goodman fight.
Probably late Aug/Sept in Saudi I think the planned schedule might be Goodman in Jan, Picasso in Apr in Vegas (Inoue has confirmed that he wants to fight in US in 2025), MJ in Aug/Sept in Saudi, Junto on Xmas eve in Tokyo
Seems like this plan makes sense. Not too crazy about the Picasso fight and if he's supposed to be a credible opponent but it'll be a good showcase fight for the US audience. MJ in Riyadh would be great to see. And a New Year date against Junto would be the icing on the cake.
A better chance than people are giving him, I didn't like the Doheny performance. He most likely gets TKO'd late, I could see an RTD in all honesty.
MJ is definitely not gonna be written off completely. He’s still a formidable fighter that can possibly give Inoue a scare. Also not counting out Nakatanis chances at all. Hes a special fighter as well who can possibly fight on equal terms with Inoue.
I find it funny apparently Inoue is getting 4 months till MJ, but then only needs 3 months for the Ball fight in December.
He's the clear underdog, but he's awkward with that lean back, southpaw style and is a good counter puncher with decent power, so could give Inoue some problems. But I think that he's struggle with Inoue's speed, volume and combinations. I think Akhmadaliev could take it to the latter rounds. Nakatani I think is the biggest threat of his next 3 proposed opponents.
No he can't. Don't be ridiculous. Featherweight is his absolute limit, and I highly doubt he can become undisputed there even. Super-Bantam has already had its rocky spells for him. How in the **** at age 32/33 is he going move up through 2 more divisions becoming undisputed in both, all while aging, slowing down naturally and gaining weight?? It's a ridiculous statement to make. You think he's gonna move up to 130 at around 34/35 and as the smaller guy and become undisputed...how?
He's already undisputed in 2 divisions. He can possibly become undisputed at 126 and grab a belt at 130 and 135. Difficult yes, impossible no.
MJ’s last performance against Castillo wasn’t the best but hes still a live underdog IMO. MJ’s power and timing is something that Inoue will definitely have to be wary of. Inoue can’t afford to be overly reckless early nor get into a brawl. Fighting a fire fight will definitely give MJ opportunities to possibly land some hard shots and perhaps give Inoue another scare. If Inoue stays disciplined and boxes carefully like he did against Fulton then he should win this clearly.
