Wow this was a great session crazy according to boxrec Leos number 9 and Akhmadaliev is number 10 in the world now this could be a fight eventually. Leo had his moments in the first minute or so of the sparring but when he felt that power he shelled up and was taking some serious punishment if this was with smaller gloves and no headgear Leo might have gone down. was a great sparring session they both have improved a lot since this.

Leo was going 100% and the other guy is just getting rounds in. Pretty lame.

Wasn't really a "spar war" in my opinion, good sparring though.

Amir Khan was ruined by the Wild Card Gym sparring, that is a "Spar War".

I gave Khan a lot of stick, some justified and if I'm honest some unjustified but when I look back at him sparring like that and the way he approached the Wild Card.. is in any surprise he had the fight knocked out of him?

Sad really, he realises now he (speaks about it at the end of that video) took too much in sparring, he just got slowly chewed up.

None of that sparring was suited his natural style or assets, but the trainers/coaches and Roach never stopped the spars and insisted he went back to boxing and moving, they just let him have shoot outs and get smacked around.

boxing fans are a fickle bunch, we go from one extreme to the other, take Tunde and Yarde, apparently Tunde doesn't let him have hard spars, because he is convinced that's where fighters get damaged most long term and we criticise that, Roach and Team Roach let Khan do that.. we criticise that.

I suppose it's all down to the individual fighter and trainer and getting the right balance, it must be very difficult being a trainer and getting the right sparring partners and the right intensity.
