I'll be amazed if that harrowing 10.5 rounds didn't as much as halve Murray's ability.

Golovkin took years off his career and he's already 32.

 

Yeah but that could backfire and make the problem worse.

If, as expected, Murray is decimated by the loss and looks bad or loses in that next HBO date, it will give ammo to critics discrediting what Golovkin accomplished in shutting out and stopping him.

I'd almost rather see Murray go and quietly take a soft touch back home, see what he still has left, and then if he's still on sharp form cash in his goodwill points to appear on HBO in another meaningful contest with another contender.
