Bad call:twisted: on the Martinez fight as I felt Murray won that fight:good

He is a true warrior and showed a very high ring IQ in all the fights you mentioned and he was smart to take a knee with GGG.

I hope we get to see Murray again very soon.

 

Murray can hold his head up high he gave it his all. You cannot ask more of a man. GGG is for real. You wont see many rushing to challenge him. I just hope Murray doesnt suffer any long term effects. Gotta say that after that showing not too many will be eager to take on Martin Murray either

 

I thought Golovkin showed his metal: fought a brave man who had deceptive moves and good defense and could take a punch. Don't think for a moment the likes of Ward and Froch aren't concerned about getting in the ring with this guy.
He has intangibles: great stamina, can take a punch,
and is dangerous at all times with his variety of punches. and he ain't going to be knocked out.

 

How is Murray the 2nd best MW in the world when the other MW champ beat the former MW champ that beat Murray? And easily too. GGG and Cotto are the top 2 guys at MW.

 

Irrelevant. Anyone who knows or follows boxing would know I'm referring to Cotto EASILY beating Martinez, as that obviously was not the case with Martinez-Murray. It's just a case of applying a few brain cells to apply the process of deductive logic.

And excuses excuses, Martinez already had knee problems vs Murray and was already shot. Cotto is just a league above Murray and exposed Martinez lack of fundamentals as Roach said he would do all along.

And Canelo would have a field day with Murray.

 

Easily. Cotto has 10 times the boxing skills that Murray has. He'd use his jab and dance around him. As Max Kellerman says, class tells overtime.

 

If Pac can climb up from flyweight and destroy Margarito, you really think its that far fetched to think Cotto outboxes a natural MW?

He's a natural WW making it to MW, WW's have done it before to go on to beat ATG MW's yet alone Martin Murray. Who is a C level fighter, yes C level B- at best.

Martinez was already physically broken against Murray, so dont give me that. Cotto beat him with timing, speed and skills, something neither Chavez or Murray could do but they were all fighting the same guy. Martinez chin has always been suspect, we saw how Chavez hurt him bad in the 12th round, he just couldn't land as consistently as Cotto but if he could it would have been the same results. Freddie Roach has said Cotto hits harder than Chavez, he talks smack but given what Cotto's left hooks did to Martinez I'm inclined to believe him.

Cotto will time Murray and outbox him from the outside, the height wont make a difference. If Murray fought like Trout, a bit more slick, I could see him utilising his height but he doesn't. When Murray gets inside, Cotto can unload combinations a lot quicker than he can, he throw his combinations and spin out to the side utilising his much shorter stature and Roach's favourite defensive manoeuvre.


Make all the excuses all you like but Cotto is the Lineal Middleweight champion of the world. That didnt happen by accident.

And most people were saying Martinez was gonna beat him prefight, I personally thought it was 50/50 and gave the edge to Cotto, now look how fast people backtrack.
