this thread proves what a clown you really are! isnt it a touch rum that Khan admits that he doesnt want to fight anyone in their prime?
To be fair to Khan, I don't think he conveyed his exact meaning particularly well, seeing as he's somewhat inarticulate. I've seem him state on numerous occasions that when he fights the top boys, he'd rather be in his prime and his opponent on the wane, rather than fight a prime opponent whilst he's still green. Basically he wants to fight his opponents when he's in optimum condition and at his best. Which is no different to most nowadays.
Thanks! Facetiousness aside, I don't think Murray's in a position to criticise anyone's level of opposition. As Gaz wrote earlier, I hope he's not going to waste his career waiting for a Khan fight, like Witter did with Hatton. Fight some better opposition, step it up. Don't reach 30 and still be talking about being world class.
He's got some points, Khan was calling out the winner of Marquez v Diaz last night on twitter which is annoying. But, he's going nowhere at the minute so he's probably best concentrating on himself or getting rid of one of the most inept promoters world boxing has ever seen.
Marquez last fight was at welterweight he looked poor but other than Oscar who has looked good recently against floyd and diaz fought paulie as well. Though I think Khan would be better off fighting some top ten jnr welter. Murray is just trying to hype himself using Khans name.
Khans sparring partners of the last 18 months will have been better opposition than anything Murray has seen, there is a gulf of class between them, Murray is on Ben Nevis, Khan is on Mt. Olympus... Done.
It's what all British fighters do when someone else is high profile. They just automatically believe they should get the call because they are British and in the same (not any more in this case) weight class. If it doesn't come, they start whining and using the old ''it would be a good event for British boxing'' shite and then haters start to hate. Khan isn't and never will be everyone's cup of tea either as a fighter or character, but come on..... Murray hasn't boxed anyone in the top 50 yet. Until he does and looks good doing it, this fight ain't happening. It's easy to talk tough when the call isn't coming. If Schaefer made Murray an offer to fight Khan I wouldn't bet on him taking it. A one-sided KO loss won't look good..... and he already sells next to no tickets.
Our domestic scene is dying on its feet in my opinion. We just seem to have rakes of pretenders holding out for one payday whilst engaging in uninspiring match ups. It's time to start throwing some of these guys in with each other to weed out some of the ****. It would serve the dual purpose of actually having some FFN fights of genuine intrigue as opposed to the dross we are constantly served up at the moment.
