    Murray is a great fighter

but even the commentators were saying Youssef was winning to begin with

he might of deserved the decision in the end.

What im saying is Gomez did a much better job.

Gomez would have been a good opponent 1.5 or 2 years ago.

Murray had 2 proper British title fights, where before the fight you didn't know what was going to happen. They were also opponents from Murray's own weight, lightweight, which strengthens the contests a bit. Would he withstand Meager's pressure/experience? Could he catch up with fast McAllister? Those 2 fights are tougher & prove more than beating the current Michael Gomez.

The target is Thaxton, the Euro champ, also a harder fight.

Michael Gomez seemed to have his last hurrah vs Johanesson, then he had another vs Khan - because of his heart & experience. He was good enough to make the fights exciitng wars, but is taking too many head shots. He was a terrific fighter in his day, but he's a TKO in waiting for many top super feathers and lightweights.

Not quite sure what Murray has ever done in his Boxing Career to allow such statements as 'He is a great fighter', Muhammed Ali...he was great I suppose, but Murray? Sorry I cannot allow that. :bart

Only seen Murray fight twice myself, both against relative powder puff punchers who were unable to to do much real damage, however in his last fight against McAllister, he did take a good volume of punches which anyone with a slightly more powerful punch would have caused very serious problems. Very easy to hit in my opinion and just charged down like a bull in the end and used brute force to overcome his opponent who was pretty slick.

    Not sure about Gomez though..
