Murray had two bad decisions in a world title fight.
I wouldn't mind if he gets another shot.

The IBF have made it interesting by freeing up this belt, Jacobs should either box Canelo (apparently an offered has been made) or Derevyanchenko for a world title. He can't turn down both without getting absolutely slaughtered, so a nice choice for him there.

Golovkin Vs Canelo isn't dead in the water, some talks still ongoing.

So potentially we could have GGG Vs Canelo and Jacobs Vs Derevyanchenko.. two great fights, with the winners probably fighting for most of the belts.

Oh and BJS is sitting in a car, WBO title belt in the boot, apparently injured, inactive AGAIN doing little videos saying he'll knock out Murray if he calls him a turdhouse to his face.

Awwww makes me proud to be British.

He only had 1 bad decision in a world title fight - the Sturm fight, Disgraceful decision where Murraywas gifted an undeserved draw when he clearly lost the fight. Sturm was robbed of a deserved win.
All the other decisions were fine.

I like Murray as a person but no way did he beat Sturm....or even Martinez, though it was closer, the decision went the right way.

He beat Martinez mate. Knocked him down twice as well. He bossed that fight.

i actually think Murray will get the shot. Jacobs won't take it as they have the same coach, Charlo will go WBC route, apparently Rozier (Jacobs & Derveynachenkos coach) is Andrade's "Uncle", and i cant see Langford taking it on the back of a british title loss, which leaves Murray as the next available challenger

    It’s become mythical.

Why r people mentioning Langford. His just lost at British title level. Hope Murray does get a shot but without a major promoter i doubt he will.

Martin did very well but I agreed with the judges.

Anyway it appears Martin has a fight on Saturday if he wants it!! Saunders has called him out to settle their differences outside the ropes if he's not happy. Gas man Saunders isn't he....
I'd like to see him do that with a Nigel Benn or a Steve Collins. They'd likely take him up on it too...Benn was a psycho and as for Steve...very hard man Collins. Might go badly for Billy!

And the judges, and most impartial observers.

Murray came on strong and was impressive as hell but actually scored only one legitimate KD not two and gave the fight away by barely throwing a punch in the first 4 rounds.

Most impartial observers...did you do a survey? Have to admit, there’s only you and Len who i’ve ever heard say you thought it was the correct decision.

You’re right, one legitimate KD but should have been two. Had that been anywhere else that would have been a Murray victory. It looked like the most volatile atmosphere in the same month as the falklands anniversary. There was no way he was getting a decision there.

I assure you there are more people than 2 that think Martinez won.

So did Sturm by the way.

I’m not knocking Murray by the way, both very good performances but falling short both times.

I’ve not mentioned Sturm, although he didn’t lose that one anyway.

Ps. Sorry, i’m a bit short today. She’s had me painting garden fence, and burnt top of my head, so feeling quite irritable. Hence the snappy responses.

Murray Martinez was a close fight.
As I recall Martinez was crocked with bad knees and skating all over the place on soaking wet canvass, so he was always likely to be off his feet in those circumstances. I got the impression that had Martin pushed the pace at critical points, particularly towards the end the fight was there to be won. But he didn't. Possibly lack of confidence in his own fitness, engine etc Sergio toughed it out down the stretch and out worked Martin to retain his title.
( with good knees and on a dry canvass he'd have been levels above Martin in fairness).

I totally sympathise with MM over bad luck with bjs and Saunders recent conduct. But overall I actually would argue that Martin has been quite a lucky fighter in his career. :)
