Hi guys. I'm naturally left-handed but I fight mainly orthodox and south paw. but for some reason, I lose power and technique in my straight right hand far quicker than my other punches. For example it was at its peak just a week ago and I did training this past monday. But now I don't have the form down. Its as if I "forget" how to throw this punch over time and must re-learn it. Is there an explanation for this? My straight left, both uppercuts and jab never do this.
Its in the eyes, where the problem lies explanation.Being left handed means you are left eyed dominant, and most of your Peripharil vision is in it. Your right eye, the lesser one is shortsighted compared with the good eye. This causes Biomechanical problems throughout the Body, one side reacts while the other stabalises the action of the other. Ive found the best way is a good stretch program, then patching the Dominant eye while practicing skills.
holy crap, i would have never figured. I'll have to try that. So when my right hand adjusts does that mean my eyes have adjusted? Does this effect my left in anyway? I looked up stretching programs, would the "Essential 2 minute Stretch Program" one suffice or is that one bull****? I'm willing to do a more developed one.
In fairness lefthook, you have to know what youre doing. Everybody has a different Biomechanical fault to a degree, depending what there Biomechanics are used for ie Job or Hobby. Useually it starts with gait, then into the Hips finally the Back. Assisting keeping the Oral cavity where it wants to be for posture and direction. While one side is dominant and everything is working, all or nothing is the term. While the eyes are missdirecting you to a degree. It causes the body to be an injury waiting to happen 95% of the time. Basically most of the time we are in the gym taining to get injured . the trouble is Gravity and muscle contractions. Contract all the time, isnt the way to go expanding the muscle you get more contraction, Stretch and do it properly :hi:.
