IMO you are completely 100% stretching his words into something that is honestly unrealistic. The tone of Cotto's voice and the way he responded to that question was more of a "smart ass" response kinda like "Yeah no ****" type of deal. And for the record, there isn't a fight a boxer will take if he doesn't have any kind of self confidence or belief in himself that he could win the fight, these are mano a mano FIGHTS that these guys are getting into. Thats just silly...

    Damn no love for Kermit:lol:
I wonder how old he was when he first got laid?? With a name like Kermit I'm guessing he still gets adolescent, random hard ons:lol:

You can shape it anyway you like, I just dont like the comment. I like the comment that Leonard said about fighting Hagler..."I was scared as hell, but I had to fight him" That is what fighters do.

As far as his tone??? Dude he never changed his tone which is one of the reasons that he is dull as hell. The only time I have seen this guy out of his box is when he was hanging out with ChiChi Rodrigeuz, and he was pulling it out of Cotto. You are the one "stretching his words into something that is honestly unrealistic" or I should say the influction or lack of in his tone.

That's what I call a good old fashion "Ass Whoopin" to the 10th degree. To beat someone's ass sooooo bad to the point where they sit down... Not once, but twice and ponder........ Whether to get up or not is funny as hell  ....You can visible see the look on his face as he goes through his options in his head....A) Continue to get my ass whooped, B) Continue to get my ass whooped even more, or C) I wonder where the after party is? :yep

Are you bilingual? Do you clearly understand what Cotto says when he speaks Spanish?

I think you misunderstood his words, because right after he said that, he said:

"I am here to accept ANY TYPE of challenge"

And obviously a Floyd fight would be included in "any type of challenge"

What he meant by his answer to the "do you think you can take Margarito's punches" question was "Thats a stupid question."

On a side note for anyone that didn't follow Cotto prior to the Torres, Judah, or Mosley fights....This is why a good amount of people even then were Cotto fans (myself included) and thought he could and would give FMJ a great fight.

You could see the talent from top to bottom even in the beginning.....Cotto's Jab, fluid combinations, foot work, poise, head and body movement, counter punching, his timing and speed......Cotto always had the all around package. To fight in many different styles depending on the oposition. It's just taken sometime for more people to finally see it.

For some reason after few of those notable fights I mentionesd. He was seen as a one dimensional, straight ahead brawler, and I coudn't for the life of me understand it. I haven't seen this fight in a long time, but thanks for posting it.

Don't get me wrong. Cotto still has improvements and adjustments to make to get to the level of where he wants to be in the sport and history of boxing. Which to me is a sign of a great fighter. Improve on what you have, and not stay content with what you have. Expand and evolve your arsenal. Unlike some fighters like Tito for example when moving up in weight. It became Left hook and no plan B, C, D, etc.....Even though Tito when coming up had very good boxing skillz....He just fell in love with his power (like everyone else).

Sorry that this post went on far too long, but I can't see how anyone watching this early Cotto fight. Couldn't walk away being impressed and seeing the potential Cotto we have today?

Well let me put it this way. I have been married to a first generation Mexican American woman for 15 years, so I would think that I would have picked up alittle spanish along the way;)

I heard that as well. I didnt misunderstand anything. Its like someone saying "I fukking hate you" then saying "but only when you make me mad" It doesnt change the fact that they said they hate you.

Look I just didnt like the comment, and it really shows me something about Cotto. Now Im not one to really use the "OH he is ducking this guy and that guy" argument, but Lou Duva did make some comments about Arum trying to only make sure that Cotto fights the right guy at the right time. He said this when Cotto didnt fight Holt when he was the number one contender. Now dont start with the Cotto would have beat his a$$ stuff, cuz I couldnt argue that point, I do believe that Cotto would murder Holt but he didnt fight him, then it the whole...."I'll let everyone eles call Floyd out for me" and know this "I wouldnt have signed for the fight if I didnt think that I could take his Punch"

I believe that Cotto is a great fighter, but I dont think that he believes that he is as good as he is.
