The first is for all the Gamboa fans who want to see just how he got to be as good as he is (barring his obvious natural talent of course. He makes an appearance in part 2 I believe.) It's a documentary on the boxing academies of Havana and definately displays why the Soviets are bursting onto the scene right now, as I'm sure this kind of school was the norm in the soviet union as well. Here's the link to the first part: http://youtube.com/watch?v=m5v_lFYxT9s You can follow the other parts on the side as I'm not going to cut an paste them all here. All told it's about 50 min long. The next documentary is likely to be less popular but it chronicles all the heavyweight champions starting with John L. Sullivan and ending with Gene Tunny. If you can get over the ridiculous 60's music and narration (as well as a bit of fact skewing when it comes to Jack Johnson) it's really a great insight into the evolution of boxing. It contains some REALLY rare footage that you won't find anywhere else and displays just how much boxing progresses as a sport and science. Watching clips of pre-Jack Johnson fighters will give you an idea of why he is considered so great and even the evolution of style from Johnson to Tunny is something to behold. It is a bit long (somewhere around 2 hrs. all told I think) but well worth the watch. Here's he link to the first part: http://youtube.com/watch?v=2iYlnVBYIuM I didn't upload any of these videos so I take no credit but I thought I'd share them none the less. Enjoy!
My god this guy is so over rated, of course he is gonna look good he should have been pro 5 years ago. One of the best docs about boxing is Magic Man, its about Paulie Mallignaggi and the build up to his title fight with Miguel Cotto.
Just watch him. He isn't over-hyped at all; he is the best prospect in the last couple decades (given you have a pair of eyes and know at least a little bit about boxing). Check out his youtube fights and witness the next great
Explain why he's overrated. There is absolutely nothing he can't do. No weaknesses (as of yet anyways, but he is the truth imo). Who cares if he didn't turn pro a couple of years ago and fight a dozen tomatoe-cans. He can be a champ RIGHT NOW and I have no doubts that he could beat Chris John tomorrow and clean out the division
