That's what I've been saying.. :huh I could tell you why I think he's so overrated.. No weaknesses? Look at who he has fought? No one. He hasn't gon' past the 6th round and it's like people are just wanting someone to come up, in that case Gamboa, to beat all the top fighters at 130/135.. His skills may be better than most prospects and he may have an impressive KO ratio, but he is still a prospect.. I believe if he was to fight JMM, Pac, or Campbell this year, he would get ktfo.. Yeah, he fares well against tomatoe cans, but how do ya'll know that he's gonna' be the next best thing to ever happen to boxing? I mean it's nice to see someone with a lot of talent and potential to make things happen, but he's nothing more than a prospect at this point.. I don't even see him fighting any top contenders until he gets around 20 fights.. How do ya'll know how he would fare against someone who can hurt him and following up? How do ya'll know if he can win a fighy by going 12 rounds? I don't know what it is, but I think people are just eager to see someone new dominate.. Sorry guys :verysad
gamboa as of the moment will not be able to beat pac, campbell think) and jmm. although at this fight we are getting a glimpse of what he could do in the near future. when i watched all his fights i thought it would be a scary thought what he could achieve 3 to 4 years from now, that's how impressive he is. some people might be overhyping him a bit (probably even me) but it would be impossible for every boxing fan not to be impressed by his skills and the way he disposes his opponents. i agree with sandman that right now he is still a 'green' prospect but we'll see in the near future what he could offer.
