No oppinions on what I consider a very legit question. Yet the post quoting Dempsey saying Baer could have been the goat which everyone knows is nonesense gets five pages. Christ...people have the nerve to saay the general forum is turning to ****.

I say that the Eddie Mustafa of the Johnson fight beats either one of them.

If Eddie's head was on straight, sometimes a big 'if', he runs the table.
It continues to amaze me that so may say:
"Spinks beat him, end of discussion."
Other questionable performances during his career.
Has anyone looked at his career and his deficiancies?
If that head of his had been on straight, we'de be talking a long short-list of all time greats.
HE WAS a better fighter than Michael Spinks!
    Disagree? Let's start another thread.

Seen tons of Toney and Hopkins but almost no EMM. Recommendations for viewing?

EMM would beat both but decides to train them instead

I think EMM at his best would beat both of these guys. Here is his best performance IMO:

Eddie fought like an in-control master vs Johnson..utterly cool and dominant. It's so rare to see a fighter with obvious one punch power like Mustafa discipline himself to fight with a strategy like he did vs Johnson..with that debilitating body attack that paved the way to victory.

Didnt he break a few of Marvins ribs that night? Those left hooks to the body were so painful to watch. Ive been going back to some of his fights and that straight right followed by the left to the body was sooo smooth!

Two really difficult match-ups...Tend to agree that if Mustafa came in motivated he takes them both...Hopkins' movement would give Muhammad some problems and Toney presented problems because he could roll on right hands so well...Mustafa would have both worried about his body punching though. Interesting fights that I've never considered before.

Man, those body shots were lethal...I don't know if Eddie gets the credit he deserves when the subject of body punchers gets brought up, but he really did a number on ol' Marv, didn't he? That was a beauty..that left to the body in round three followed by that right that puts Johnson down..
