The problem w Eddie was his inconsistency .. at his best he beats either ... he could also los to both though because he was Eddie ... hot and cold ..

I guess it depends on the rules is this a Tag team or a handicap match?

I'm from Indy and saw all of Marvin's early pro fights (including his debut). I even met his son a few years ago (a very humble gentleman, which is a testament to Marvin's upbringing) We never thought Marv would make it to the big time early on but he kept mounting victories and got there.
The 1st Franklin loss in Philly was one of the GREATEST fights you will ever see!
Go out there and get it!
He beats Parlov in Europe for the title and?......instead of a couple of cheap defenses, fights Matthew again right off the bat here in Indy (I was 10 rows from the ring, very sad at the end)
That being said, he regrouped and stopped an over-the-hill Galindez to win the title again and?....defends against dangerous Eddie in his first defense???
Eddie has grown to be one of my favorite fighters because I see what he COULD have been with all his skills. He took Marvin apart that night.
IMO if he hadn't wanted to look 'perfect' he would have stopped Marvin much sooner than the 13th.
Not many boxers out there (in history!) that had a more complete set of skills as Eddie.

Eddie fought deliberately, magestically, and he was in no hurry to end it IMO,..he seemed to be relishing his work in a masterful performance in methodically dismantling Johnson. One of my favorite performances by ANY fighter, BTW.

Agreed:goodNeither Hopkins nor Toney beat anyone in EMM's class at 175.I personally believe that Mustafa would have convincingly beaten both.
