BJS vs Khurtsidze Khurtsidze is one the most relentless fighters in the game, at any weight, and while short of stature, he's not short on power or heart. NDam was able to make his escape consistently in their fight due to the huge reach advantage, but BJS would be more reliant on his countering that his speed and boxing, and this fight to me would be a tough one for both. Eubank Jr vs Jacobs. While Jacobs has solid resume and excellent power, he's not been retested since his comeback from cancer. While CEJ might be short on boxing skills, he's got an iron chin, good power, and an engine like few others. This fight is also a tough fight for both, with the winner clearly the #2 in the MW division. Harrison vs Lara. Lara is insistent upon wanting a GGG fight. While his talent is certainly there, and his resume is top notch, he hasnt shown the type of showstopping performance to get his mgmt serious about taking a shot at GGG. Harrison made a rookie mistake vs Nelson and took 4 steps back in terms of preparedness for GGG. A W over Lara might be just the confidence booster he needs to get him ready for GGG. Peter Quillin vs Maciej Sulecki. Quillin was once the #2 MW in the division but his near Ls to Rosado and Lee and his sad KO1 loss to Jacobs seems to have derailed his once promising career. Sulecki is not a one punch KO artist like Lee and Jacobs are, and has a speed deficiency someone like Quillin could exploit. Quillin would also have a notable size advantage, and this fight would instantly elevate the winner to the top 5 and right into GGGs wheelhouse. Johnson vs Lemiuex. The Canadian banger came back strong knocking out tough guy Tapia, but Johnson is an iron chinned fighter who can take even better than he gives. His lone defeat was a robbery stoppage vs Stevens where he was ahead on anyone who KSAB's card 9-0, when he got tagged with a single L hook, wobbled and then jumped on by the ref. Worse stoppage in a while, but one that allowed Stevens multiple fights since and turned a possible top contender back. This fight like the rest would be 50/50 as Lemiuex has not proven yet that he can go 12 with pressure, and a win over Johnson would redeem his L to Rubio. Khyrtov or Murata vs Vera or Stevens. Both Vera and Stevens are now officially gatekeepers, and it's time for both these hot prospects to step up to the B level.
Not big on that fight truthfully. Murray, once upon a time was the rightful #1 MW in the world having beaten both Sturm and Martinez. He moved up to SMW, where his bad luck continued in a robbery L to Abraham. Boiling down to 160 could be to his detriment as well, and Eubank Jr might not have the type of one punch power as does GG or GGG, but he's got enough power, and Murrays will/chin are enough to possibly cause ANOTHER tragedy. I fear that Murrays just looking to make a couple hundred K by getting on that card, and wouldnt be in shape soon enough to make that type of tough fight. Rather see Murray in with someone like Kerry Hope next. Just to get back into the W column. :think
What makes you think that Senior is gonna entertain the idea of allowing Jr to play 2nd fiddle to Brook. Sure it would be a solid win for either fighter, but Murray's at a low point in his career atm, and if he's seriously interested in getting involved on that card, he should look to fight someone a little less dangerous than CEJ. A win, at this point, is critical for Martin Murray. This would be a lose lose fight for CEJ atm, who would earn a fraction of what he could if he'd cross the pond and fight Jacobs. He's also in a position to demand a fight with Blanco and enforce a mandate on Jacobs, and wins over Blanco and Jacobs solidify him as the #2 and likely increase his bargaining power should a GGG fight ever come back around. :think
