Calzaghe is already gone What dominance? Kessler has never earned the top spot. He had his chance against Calzaghe and failed. Since then, he hasn't fought any worthwhile opponents. When he actually beats some top level comp at 168, then you can say he's on top of the division. Getting beat and then taking on subpar comp does not earn you the distinction of the division's top fighter. Pavlik is the recognized champ and has beaten the better comp. I said Abraham has been fighting bums at MW for a little while now. His second fight with Miranda was at SMW. If you still want to count it fine. However, besides Miranda, Abraham has been bottom feeding.
Perfect example of the kind of Euro fighter Americans pay attention to: one who DOESN'T stay at home fighting cans and getting gift decisions from Euro judges. Ever hear of Sven Ottke? Arthur Abraham? Zsolt Erdie? Mikkel Kessler (though granted more his promoter's fault than his)?
actually being heavier has nothing to do with getting into the p4p list. The whole point of p4p is that weight doesn't matter. Also you are basically saying that the heavier fighter rarely get into the p4p list unless they are pretty special, so i guess right now these heavier fighters are not pretty special. And I see no indication that Pavlik is reluctant to let a fight against Abraham happen. What's your source?
American boxers are like the American economy, pathetic as ****ing hellatsch, American kids are too ****ing lazy period, they would rather sit around all day, play video games, and eat cheetos, that's why the US is the fattest nation on he planetatschboxing is to much work, and the kids that want to play sports play hoop, or football.. The best American fighter i can see now is Chad Dawson, if that tells you anything..
Ottke i can agree on! But when have Kessler ever got a gift decision? he been fighting in USA once in 2000, Australia (Mundines, back yard) Wales (Calz, back yard) and last in Germany!
True, but he is still fighting cans for the most part, especially when there is so much competition in 168, but as I said I think that is mostly his promoter's fault. Kessler could pop huge in the USA if he fought some solid competition, but his promoter seems intent on keeping him in Europe, fighting the Hauslers of the division.
To a degree I certainly agree, but even when it looks like Kessler wants to up his competition, Palle pulls the plug. It seems like Mogens Palle has Kessler's balls in a vice in this way, and I give him all the credit in the world for trying to get out of his deal.
Isn't Hopkins retiring too ... and most probably Diaconu is going to KO Dawson in 1. Also if Calzaghe retires then the official champ at LHW is Erdei :hi:
I dont like his last oponents either, and Kess himself certainly dont! thats why this problem with his promotor started.. He wants to go to america and fight a big name there, and his fans wants that too! But Palle dont seem to think same way! I agree, his promotor is a d...head that for sure!
Yup, and a shame too as Kessler is a damn fine fighter. I'd hate to see his promoter squander his talents fighting nobodies when there are some good fights to be made. Oh well, Kessler is still fairly young, so there is some hope.
