Look at Pavliks next opponent, is it Abraham? no source required.

Sure if you look at it from a h2h perspective, but p4p is totally subjective and shouldn't even be brought up in most instances.

LOL do you not get it? Belts mean **** all mate..

Paulie gave up a belt to fight Hatton.. why? becuase they mean sod all. whereas fighting the best in the division is the only thing that matters.

    :rofl
Paulie gave up a belt for a PAYDAY. I'd love it if boxing were the way you described it, but it just doesn't work that way.

It does work that way, when the boxers want it. Pavlik doesn't.. i'd be suprised if they fight. Abraham may aswell move up now, no one wants him at mw

It would be awesome if it DID work that way, but it rarely does. It's about money and belts, and if the 2 coincide to make a great fight then it's awesome. Any other view is through rose-colored glasses.

He's retiring at the end of the year

You're out of your ****ing mind. Why don't you just tell me that you have a martian living in your bedroom? That would be more believable than Diaconu beating Dawson; especially by KO in the first round

Maybe in fantasy land. However, in the real world, Edrei is not the top LHW or the official champ. He's simply an overprotected Euro with a padded record. I don't give a **** about his alleged "lineal" status.

Round about the time of the Lockett fight, when that was questioned people said 'mandatory, isn't it, dummies?' (ignoring the fact that it was a WBO mandatory and when do they ever get enforced?).

Nevertheless, the Pavlik fans said 'don't worry, Kelly's getting his mandatories out of the way, then the Abraham fight will happen January '09, gives Abraham a chance to get some exposure in the US first'.

Well, now it's January '09 and not only no fight, but no fight even being mentioned on Pavliks side. They talk about fighting the winner of Wright v Williams, but no longer even mention Abraham. Kelle Sauerland was on Steve Bunce's show on Setanta yesterday, saying that he had contacted Pavlik's people multiple times about a match up and it was still no closer. He said he would be on the phone again immediately the Rubio match is out the way. Abraham's doing everything he can - he went to the US and put on a headline performance. He's prepared to go there again to fight Pavlik (can anyone imagine Pavlik fronting up in Germany? Lol!)

How long does it have to be before we can start calling Pavlik on not taking the one obvious fight in the division?

It never ceases to amaze me when Americans start talking about Europeans staying at home, talk about kettle and black, americans always want home advantage and home ref and home judges, look at Mayweather, how often did he travel? This is why I gave Lacy props when all was said and done, at least he had the bollox to come to Europe unlike most stay-at-home Americans.

Depends on your criteria for establishing a new linear champion when the title has fallen vacant.

If your criteria involves the WBC title, then Michalczewski was never linear, thus neither were Gonzalez or Erdei.

On the other hand, Erdei should rightfully be Ring Magazine champion, and would be but for the fact that they had suspended awarding belts at the time that Michalczewski fought Virgil Hill.
