MW Tournament (Round 3): Tony Zale vs Nigel Benn

Zale stops Benn, strong body work and pressure, it would be a classic though with give and take...a great fight

 

Zale would destroy Benn ... much tougher, a better chin and far better stamina ...

 

Benn`s wide telegraphed punches while dangerous would have been parried/blocked by Zale, whos better punching technique and shorter punches would have resulted in him outlanding Benn, especially to the midsection.

Just going by the footage of the 3rd Zale/Graziano fight which incidentally I re-watched a few days ago, Zale was blocking most of Rocky`s wide swinging hooks and haymakers very effectively, and I am now imagining Benn, who fought in similar fashion to Graz although with quicker hands and I still have a hard time seeing him have any success.

Combined with Zales durability and own punching power, I have a difficult time envisioning Benn walking away the victor in this matchup, although you gotta give the man a punchers chance, but if Al Hostakamong others couldn`t stop a prime Zale, I doubt the Dark Destroyer would have either.
