I personally predicted a hagler robinson final but the great carlos monzon edged out both in very close contests to be crowned the middleweight tournament champion.

I personally cant see past the robinson who beat lamotta but fair is fair & more of you guys than not thought monzon could have beaten that version of srr.

    CONGRATS CARLOS MONZON.

Yes indeed, and a nice close vote between he and Robinson. Good to see lots of respect both ways, excellent final.

I agree with the pick. Monzon beats Robinson and Hagler in my view. A prime Hopkins is a tougher fight for him than either I'd say as well.

Great to see monzon getting the props he deserves. I dont see hopkins beating carlos, bernard is too conservative and lacks the risk taking and work rate needed to win....

Absolutely. Monzon would have won a decision over Robinson, and it is good to see Monzon get the recognition nowadays that he deserves. He wins over ANY middleweight champion of the past or present.

Monzon ranks with Ali in being able to figure out and out-think his opponents. They just had different styles and ways of achieving those objectives, that's all.

This is really outstanding; in the past, I've always seen Robinson winning polls for greatest middleweight and whatnot and both Hagler and Robinson being taken over Monzon regularly. It's clear Monzon is gaining the respect and standing around here which his career strongly merits.

I thought the fact that he was an evil ******* would appeal to you, because that's obviously your thing. Then again, he didn't quite smoke as many pole's as Mincin' Mike obviously has, so maybe that's why.
