This is going to be my 2nd boxing competition! My debut was about 2.5 months ago and i managed to win my first two fights. Dammit, you don't know how excited i am!!! I want to win this and get the gold once more. One negative thing is that i got a pretty bad cut beside my eye ( eyebutted someone's hips lol ) and have to lay off sparring. I can't risk the cut open again so i guess i can't spar. I hope this won't affect me greatly as i've been using imaginary instead. Here are eleven things i want to do in my next fights : 1. Hands going to be up 2. No exaggerated head movements 3. More straight punches, more technique 4. Breathe more and stay relaxed 5. Control the pace 6. Less unnecessary movement 7. Double that jab 8. More emphasis on speed, less emphasis on power 9. Aim the hooks, don't trap then end up in the clinch, step back throw 10. Balance 11. Less waiting, more punch volume WISH ME LUCK!!!! and thank you to ESB for everything!
Since our gym doesn't have a full sized boxing ring, me and two other amateur boxers decided to go to another place which has a full sized boxing ring to spar. One of them was supposed to bring the head gears down but as he came late me and the other guy did some light sparring and unfortunate enough i went too low and got myself a cut. thats about it, lesson learnt, always going to be putting that headgear on..
They won't let you fight if the notice that you are cut when you go to weigh in buddy.. Wish ya luck, keep your hands up and let em' fly.
Ugh it's bull****. they postponed it to april, it's ridiculous. The last competition i competed in was postponed for weeks and months too. I can't stand it man, it's too draining. I diet and train hard and get told at the week of the supposed fight that it's postponed... Sigh... I don't know if i'm ever going to want to compete in a local boxing tournament again. I guess i'll be fine just boxing without competing..
You wouldn’t have passed the medical with a cut anyway, so dont worry about them postponing it.
Happened to my first fight was so dissappointed, all the hard work and dieting then nothing hopefully get my first bout in sometime soon, good luck for when you next compete though
Diet and Train hard if you want to be a fighter, it needs to be apart of your lifestyle all the time, obviously preparing for a fight is hard as it is but you will definitely be hungrier and more ready for the next bout. stay focused
