Hey guys. I’ve recently had an injury that has ended my boxing days (probably anyway), so I thought I’d post my most recent fight – my third fight overall. It was a state Novice title fight. I’m in the red corner and won the fight 9-6. And, to save people having to ask... I’m 19 years, 6’2, a Light-heavyweight (81kg; 178lb). I walked into a boxing gym for the first time 5 months before that fight and am 3-0. Let me know what you guys think. Round 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWeU6vvJ53M Round 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDUweR9ERH0 Round 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5izbSpBnA8A
your a good boxer slightly predictable but you got the job done and the result is what matters in championships.
Out points - That jab was a little to telegraphed in the 1st round - Watch out at the end. He knew he was losing and was very aggresive on you and although he got nowhere, he still got some shots at you. Take your time and get that counter well in. Plus points +Footwork is good +1-2 combo was very nice. Reminds me a lot of Pavlik. Anyway, what counts is that you won. 1st-2nd round you totally controlled it.
I've got irreparable damage to my synovial tendon sheath on my middle knuckle. It pretty much means I have to arm punch with my right hand because it hurts too much to punch properly.
I really hope that you do recover. If you've only boxed for 5 months, I think you have a lot of talent! You could be pretty good if you recover.
You looked pretty decent for a new comer. Shame about the injury but good luck with what ever else you do.
