alrighty, this is my 5th fight at the scottish uni's, got beat on pts, pretty disappointed with my performance...i just ran outta steam at the start of the 2nd and cant understand why...i was sparring 6 rounds in training me and my coach think it might of been because of the weight, fighting below what i should let me know what you's think, i'm in the blue corner fighting for glasgow [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkCICFpADYw&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJQnsVEsQnI&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u7RgVunDc4&feature=related[/ame]
i'm 6ft 1 and weighed in for this fight at 62.6 kg (light welterweight limit was 63.5) i dried out the night before but took too much off i usually weigh 64 in the morning
You got messy in round two indeed, you became a bit wild at times. Perhaps that took some energy as well. He broke through your defence with the right hand a lot. All in all a nice scrap, too bad you lost it. You got to him with some nice shots too.
cheeers for watching, yeh i think the more tired i got the more i got hit. Just trying to figure why i tired so much...before training for this fight (4weeks prior) i was at 65ish and got down to just under 63 so thinkin i kept myself at to low a weight or maybe the nerves ! anyone else??
got a fight in feb and thinkin of goin up to 67...just too much of a stretch i think, plus lookin at the welterweights last week think i'll be fine just as long as i have the energy in me which i should if its the weight can you think of anything else that it could be? i did my sprints 3times a week, ate so healthy and when sparring was doin 6rounds and obviously being nackered after but it was double the workload, i just didnt perform on the night, so frustrating
Perhaps it just wasn't your night. I had the same two weeks ago, fought very uninspired and lost the decision. I'm doing great in sparring again but for some reason I hardly did a thing in the six minutes that mattered.
You seemed to be very flat footed throughout. And head movement is something you desperatly need. You looked too one dimensional but working on them things will at least give your opponent something to think about as you threw no counters at all. Also, learn to work inside.
