I feel like these 8 fighters were very under appreciated in terms of skills, talent, and abilities. They bring along endless excitement and heart pounding moments as well.

    1- Andrew Golota.

An amazing combination of skills, power, and size. He developed mental issues later on down the road that really messed him up, but prime Golota was surreal. He managed to dominate a still semi Prime Riddick Bowe. Don't give me that **** about Bowe being shot, Bowe wasn't. Golota dominated Semi-Prime Riddick and made him look foolish. Sadly, Andrew lost control and had to resort to low blows.

Very very dangerous fighter, great skills.

    2-Razer Ruddock
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNo8nXD3xoc[/ame]

We should never forget the smash. Ruddock took Tyson to the very deep end and was avoided by almost everyone because of this ruthless punch. Great fighter and always brought it.

    3-Tommy the Duke Morrison
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07E4ps4mkXw[/ame]

Man what a left hook. What a left hook. Great warrior, big puncher.
He brought it and never backed down from anyone. Would have been a huge success story in today's 2005+ HW Era.

    4-David Tua
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IQCz5QFiok[/ame]

Need we say more. HW Boxing could use a Prime Tua right now.

    5-Frank Bruno
This guy was underrated. Big time. He had Tyson wobbled and on ***** street after Round 1 during their first fight. He never gave up on his quest for the title and eventually won it. Today Big Frank would have been a very very solid #3 behind Wlad and Vitali ( I pick Prime Frank to easily outpoint current VK)

    6-
    Željko Mavrović

This guy is one of the most tragic 'what would have been' stories in boxing history. He had it all, the iron chin, the speed, the reflexes, the boxing skills. He only lost once and dominated the rest of his opponents. If the tragic illness never struck him, he would have been a real force to be reckoned with.

This guy's CHIN is surreal. One of the best chins of the 90's, if not the best. I saw him take non stop bombs throughout his career. I say this

He would not beat Current Wlad, but he would easily go the distance, probably having his moments. He would easily UD Current Vitali and pummel David Haye into submission.

    7-Gary Mason
This guy might be a bit foreign to many boxing fans on this site, but he was one of the most brutal and lethal ko Artists. He knew how to Knock PEOPLE OUT. I mean
34 KO'S in 36 wins. That is very impressive. He also had a unique HW streak of 35-0.

How many HW'S were 35-0 before their first loss? I don't think any other then Marciano who went undefeated.

    8-Prime Shannon Briggs.

Not the joke coked up steroid up corpse version Vitali beat, but a PRIME Briggs. The guy who threw non stop combinations, had good foot work, great power, and great accuracy. THAT BRIGGS. Miss him, good warrior. Underrated Chin too.

All 8 of these fighters were elite in some way. Weather it's big power, great speed, talent, iron chin, or determination and heart, they had it.
All 8 would be very highly ranked today and they left their marks on the boxing world during the 90's.

    Good fighters all.
    :thumbsup

Yeah, heavyweight, the unappreciated division for sure...

    Hilario Zapata
    Jiro Watanabe
    Orlando Canizales
    Jung Koo Chang
    Miguel Lora
    Antonio Esparragoza
    Sumbu Kalambay
    Dave McAuley

All way more underrated and unappreciated than the guys you list, as well as better p4p than the guys you list.

bowe was shot. early brain damage and serious weight draining did it to him, he was slurring his words at around the 3rd holyfield fight, the golota fights killed whatever left he had in him.

I think your love for Lewis is tainting your vision here Felix. :yep

They were all 2nd tier HWs....Blevel at best. Solid contenders in any division, but they'd never keep the prize for long in any era, or even gotten it for that matter.
I'd place Liakovich and Potvetkin, Brewster and Chagaev right up there with any of those guys.
Bruno was very fun to watch and a live dog vs any HW, but he was a big lean man with many defensive deficiencies. Without a proper strategy, he was a KO waiting to happen.
Guys like Morrison and Golota.....they're really just mental midgets and Mavrovic, well, he was a top euro level fighter, on about Dimitrenkos level, but as soon as he stepped up he got clowned.:deal

Oh bother....this is one of those 2010s<2000s<1990s<1980s<70s<60s<50s<40s threads. Oops....my bad for spoiling.:hi:

1- The name Lennox Lewis was not mentioned once in this thread until you came in and dropped it.

2-Ya ok, Povetkin can beat the likes of Prime Bruno Prime Golota and Prime Tua. Ya you are right. :patsch I don't think any ****ing boxing expert in the world thinks current Povetkin can beat Prime Golota.

The only guy Povetkin can beat from that list is maybe Prime Briggs, maybe.

    3- The 1990's HW'S will literally **** on the 80's
So your logic of 2010<then 2000's <1990's<1980's is stupid beyond belief.

The vast majority of boxing pundits rank the 90's HW Era much much higher then the 80',s so your indirect hint that people look through rose tinted glasses is wrong. Most people think Prime Roy Jones **** on any 80's 168ish LB fighters.

I get what you are saying, you are a god damn Klittard, so you can not deal with the fact that the 90's guys were just as big, just as strong as most contenders today, except much more skilled. I get it man, Klittard for life brah.

Like I can't DEAL WITH THE FACT that any 70's HW is >then 90'S HW's either. I get what you are feeling,
