First off, I absolutely love this fight two young and undefeated top 20 P4P talents going at it. Credit to both men for making this fight happen. This fight IMO is a pick em fight and one of which both have the style to give each other fits. The fight is similar to how the matchup with Ward-Dirrell would play out where you have two great athletes one in Dirrell who is superior from the outside with faster hands and better pop and one in Ward who is superior on the inside with better ring generalship. I see Alexander looking to keep this fight in the middle of the ring where he will use his jab to circle Bradley and set up his offense from there looking to catch Bradley with clean counters while he's trying to get inside. Alexander can't afford to let Bradley get on the inside, cut off the ring and bull him to the ropes because if he does he will take a brutal beating. With that said one of Alexander's best punches the uppercut can wreck havoc on Tim who happens to have a habit of falling in and coming forward with his head down. Cuts could also be a factor in this fight due to Tim's history of leading with his head. Tim has a problem with Alexander's style as seen in his fight with Holt who dropped him with a shot he didn't see. Bradley on the other hand will look to get inside and stay there for most of the fight, while he can box from the outside effectively Tim won't do his work here that much only fighting there in spurts. He will want to stay inside and smother Alexander's work so he won't be able to get off shots and smother his power. Alexander IMO can't fight on the inside and Tim knows this. He will attack Alexander's body, hold, wrestle and use his superior strength to look to wear Alexander down in an ugly but effective style. Tim's stamina is some of the best in boxing and he can fight like this for a full 12 rounds if need be. In conculsion, I see the winner as the guy who can enforce his style of fight on the other and when I look at it objectively I see Bradley as the smarter and better ring general of the two. With that said Alexander could very well stop or beat Bradley by a clear UD he's good but the smart pick IMO is Bradley by UD.
I don't quite understand that part. I see Bradley by dominance. Alexander flicks out his jab to keep his opponents away. He does nothing with it. Bradley has seen the game-plan Kotelnik used and will implement the exact game-plan to a tee, if not a much better version of it, I'm sure. Alexander to me is fairly average. He's a speedster with decent pop. He couldn't find his range against a guy who stood right in front of him the whole night. Devon got countered left and right. People can say it was an off night, well people should look at Devon's other fights. Urango fight was close (Urango was up on one of the cards). He didn't look impressive up till the knockout. He was getting touched up in that fight. He doesn't think in the ring either. He was just staring and looking around the ring while T.I was just shouting in his face atsch Then the next round came and he'd do the same. Bradley will have too much in his arsenal for Alexander.
Spot on analysis. I agree with everything you said. One thing to add though, Bradley will have to box from mid-range as he closes the gap every time. He cannot as you said take the chance of walking in to an uppercut. That said, Bradley cannot rely on in-fighting alone. He will have to shoot that straight right down the middle and try to side-step Devon's Jab while storming him with precise punches, both mid-range and on the inside. Great pick-em fight, but the smart money is on Bradley.
I think Bradley's too well rounded, too experienced (I know there's only a 5 fight difference, but the level of competition and age make me think Bradley's more seasoned), and is the smarter fighter in the ring. It's not impossible that Alexander wins, but he would gain a ton of credit from me if he were to pull off a clean win over Bradley. I find it more likely that Bradley puts a beating on him, drags him in to deep waters, and drowns him.
I believe much of it depends on which Devon Alexander shows up. But dammit, reading through the first post, you're making me damn impatient for this fight! Damn you! I guess FNF will have to hold me over til tomorrow.
Bradley will be a bit too much for him. He has the better experience, mental focus and boxing IQ, and is more solid all around than Alexander.
i didn't read all that because i dont care about your opinion duquan but let me tell you bradley will school devon easily.
That's actually not that far-fetched once you consider the cirumstances. Bradley is notorious for leading with his head and has cut a good number of opponents with headbutts. Alexander was cut in his most recent fight against Kotelink and usually when one fighter is southpaw and the other is orthodox, it generally increases the likelihood of head clashes.
:good I know, every time I close my eyes and envision this fight That is what I see. Alexander just gushing blood after a clash of heads. it's a horrble feeling.
I say that because Alexander is capable of landing the same type of punch on Bradley that dropped him as Holt did. Then you have him coming in head first and he could get caught by Devon's uppercut. Devon is being underestimated in this fight he has the talent to beat Bradley. He IMO is the better outside fighter, faster handspeed, better chin, better jab, better power and better counter puncher here. With that said that alone might not be enough to win and I'm still leaning towards Bradley but Alexander is a very live dog here and to suggest otherwise is foolish.
I agree with a lot of what you said, Devon is much much better against come forward fighters and that will show in this fight. Dat uppercut. I hope he also uses his left straight to the body, he abaandoned it against Andriy and I have no idea why, it was a successful punch. I don't know how much of a factor body punching will be in this fight, but if alexander wants to stop him he'll have to make it part of his game. Tim won't give upjust from being banged to the head.
I can definitely see Alexander getting off to a good start, but I think Bradley manages to get his rhythm with the lead right hand, and gradually picks him apart down the stretch. Alexander won't go easily, and I don't see him getting stopped...But I just see Desert Storm having an answer for Devon when the latter tries to accelerate down the stretch. An upset is possible, and this fight is closer than a lot of people think. But in the end, I see Bradley taking it by a score of 7-5 or thereabouts. Close, but clear UD. PS: I'm rooting for Alexander, so I hope I'm wrong.
I agree. I see Devon starting fast but Bradley coming on and ad******g in the mid rounds and taking over. I'm rooting for Alexander but think Bradley will win.
