Paulie Malignaggi could look like Julio Cesar Chavez, if his opponent wants no more of the fight. Judah was coming off a loss to Baldomir, and has folded down the stretch in the majority of his big fights. These facts cannot be overlooked.
bro the point is that Baldomir fought the way he always does, Cotto fought the way he always does, and Clottey fought the way he always does. Floyd had to fight a different way from what he always does in order to beat Zab, and he did. If Paulie has an opponent that he can't beat by potshotting, you think he has what it takes to start putting pressure on his opponent?
I agree with Pimp's analysis. I've got Floyd late TKO when Ortiz gets tired of getting hit with shots he doesn't see.
Funny people talk about Judah having no heart, that might be true, but there are some serious questions about Ortiz's will as well...He's also about on par with Judah in the mental department...
I don't see how an opponent making it so easy for you that you can fight in a way you're not accustomed to and yet still dominate is worthy of great praise. Shane Mosley's flat-out running backwards meant Pacquiao had to chase him in straight lines just to make a fight and ensure the crowd didn't boo the place down, and Manny won easily fighting in a way he doesn't usually, he usually uses far better footwork, angles, and in-and-out movement, but because his opponent was not interested in engaging him, he couldn't do so. Does this mean Manny's win is worth more than a win where he fought in his usual style? Nope. Mosley was so bad that he made it easy for Pac to dominate him fighting in a different way to his usual. Likewise, Judah was so pathetic in the latter half of the fight with Mayweather, that Floyd could do whatever the **** he liked in there, the same loss of desire and effectiveness which we have seen from Judah numerous times. Sorry, whichever way I look at this, I don't see Mayweather emerging with any more credit than Baldomir did when Baldo beat him months earlier. Not one of Floyd's best wins in my eyes.
Floyd should take this fairly handily. He's much more skilled, especially defensively. 9-3 or 10-2 would seem reasonable. However, As an old Mosley showed, Floyd can be hit. And if Ortiz manages to catch him like Shane did, it could get interesting. That would set up a possible upset. It would show us what Floyd can do under pressure. Prediction probabilities: Floyd by stoppage 20 % Floyd by wide decision: 60 % Floyd by controversial decision 5% Victor by controversial decision 5% Victor by stoppage: 10 %
9-3 sounds like the toughest fight of Floyd's career since DLH. Much tougher than Marquez and Mosley, which is what many here are saying.
I disagree. At the time PBF-Zab was one the biggest and most anticipated fights that could have been made. Zab losing to Baldo took some of the luster of the fight but it didn't take the luster all the way off. We always wanted to see PBF in the ring with a guy with faster hands who he didn't have the speed advantage over. Not only that we got to see him in with a southpaw with a a jab who was a natural counter-puncher with good pop. We needed to see if PBF could overcome this and find another way to win which he did thus why it's impressive. What Zab did against Clottey is irrelevant, he was a better fighter at the time PBF fought him than he was with Clottey period and styles also make fights.
lol you know its gonna happen on saturday...cortez will be involved more so than what a normal ref should do
