    An interesting fact about Ortiz is that he is right-handed yet he is able to do few right-handed things like throw a football, shoot a basketball (Ortiz actually writes with his left hand). As a young boxer, the southpaw stance just felt natural to him.

    “Since I was a little kid, I could never catch the right-hander stance too well,” Ortiz explained. “I didn’t like the feeling. It didn’t feel natural at all but for some reason, I could fight left-handed no problem.”

    Ortiz explained that he didn’t even feel comfortable switching stances in order to change up his game with a different look.

    “I don’t switch,” he said. “I don’t like to.”

    So once again I ask, why do people say he is a converted SouthPaw? It appears he came to the gym and that is the stance he automatically assumed. I don't believe he was convertd like Oscar.

    It's amazing how some of you process information...Some of you are like Sheep.

    Because he's naturally right handed that's why.

    If you let someone with no boxing experience AZZume a stance, most of them will naturally put their dominant hand in the lead.

    Have you ever had one of those ghetto backyard boxing matches with only gloves and no headgear, mouthpiece, and handwraps? The majority of right handers will have the right in front if not given instruction.

    :lol::patsch Yes he is converted. Right handed fighters fight orthodox. Lefties fight southpaw.

    Ortiz is right handed, but he fights southpaw.

    No it wasn't it put boxing back on the front page. Everyone was talking about it. The card was excellent from top to bottom.

    What's this for?:lol::patsch

    How did they convert Victor if that is his natural stance. If he squared up in the Southpaw stance they did not convert him. Oscar De la Hoya was converted. Oscar took on the south paw stance and they changed him to orthodox. They converted him.

    Not in a boxing gym... and not when your talking to people who know what they are talking about. It may seem like a game to you but for a trainer and a fighter when you convert a kid it's a big deal and there is a big difference. It takes time and hard work.

    Somebody was trying to make a point that Ortiz was converted and he is not.
    Oscar is converted that is why his left jab and hook were deadly.
