I guess the score against Tito is the defining point when choosing the contender for the title.... :patsch

If it was practical then we would see Wanderlei Silva vs Machida, and the winner would fight the winner of Griffin/Evans. I doubt it will happen though.

How on earth is Wanderlei "practical"? Rashad has earned it.

Although I am a huge Machida fan, I can't really argue against Rashard getting a title shot. *Although I think that casual fans don't get the skill level that Machida has, he is one of a few true 'martial artists' in the UFC IMO. If he doesn't get a title shot soon he will sign for another organization and that would be a big loss for the UFC.*

It is the only opponent both have fought in the UFC. Evans would have lost if tito hadn't grabbed the fence, while Tito couldn't do anything against Machida. Aside from chuck, tito is the only other big name fighter Evans has fought in the UFC at 205 and he wasn't the one closest to winning that fight.

Well him and Machida are training partners and good friends, so I doubt they'll fight.

It really sucks that the fight between Machida/Silva is now off. I was looking more forward to that fight than I was any other one on the 89 card. Oh well, we still have Vera/Jardine :happy .

Its not that he isn't deserving, its that others are at least as deserving.

Is Machida the best LHW in the world? Maybe.

But be clear about this. Dana isn't going to grant Machida his title shot until he puts Lyoto through hell. That means having at least 2 or even 3 more fights before he fights for the title. And I hate to say that.

After Rashad and Griffin fight, who do you think is going to get a crack at the title next? Well Wand and Page are rumored to fight in November. The winner of that fight will likely fight for the title. Sorry to say it, but Machida is going to have to wait a while.
