Not at all. Nobody said weights "work in boxing". Weightlifting can increase attributes as an athlete in turn helping boxing ability. Saying weights don't work and listing a few people that used some random weights in their routine then saying they failed because they used weights is just stupid. So you're implying lifting weights makes you slower? Scientific studies prove you wrong my friend.
Yes you are correct in the sense that skill work is the most important and I like the fact that you have read Ross' material. With that being said weights can be used for endurance, explosiveness and conditioning as well, not just max strength. I am a certified trainer and mma conditioning coach so I know a thing or two about weight training. (Not bragging by any means, just letting it be known that I am speaking on facts/science and not just talking out my ass). But I respect your post though.
I like chicken, I like liver, meow mix meow mix please deliver! This sort of thread just runs in circles, with no real conclusions. People should try new things and take it from there, or not, but not argue against something if they have not tried it.
dont tell me about being ripped, you're a pasty little white boy, you'd need a tan to see your definition.
I have lifted weights for around 2 years and my coach and anyone I have trained with say I punch very very hard for my size. I have also lost over 2 stone and I have not stopped weight lifting. I have just ate less and done more cardio.
