Ok guys. I'm 5'8 I weigh 125 (fighting) My walk around is 130. Basically my style is dancing around my opponent, with shooting long range rapid jabs. I circle the opponent a lot. My hands are lower then the average fighter, I pull back or lean left or right to dodge punches. I don't really throw hooks or upper cuts. My main punches is the one two. My footwork is my defense. I'm 21 now, I've been trained to fight like this since I was about 11. Do any one have any good tips to maintain this boxing style but excel at it more?

Missing hooks and uppercuts out completely really limits you to mainly point wins, which is fine if your an amateur as it sounds like the ideal am style. If you went pro though you'd need to look at making your opponents chase you and land counter uppercuts and hooks

Yeah, just hope you never fight anyone who knows how to box big guys or you are in trouble. That style depends entirely on endurance, reglexes and speed, you may even be too old to ever make it pro seriously. By 26 you will not be able to employ this style anymore. So good luck. Moving backwards means a guy just has to move forward to hit you, and I can jump forward faster than you can jump backwards. I love to fight guys like that, they take 1-2 steps back and I take 2-3 steps forward and they acted all shocked when I floor them running backwards with the simpliest hook.

My footwork usually helps with me getting out of the way. When I pull back I'm leaning either to the right or left. I'm always on my toes, I must admit I'm a hard target. I take body shots here and there but my main punch is the jab. I don't think it's too late for pro. With my style and eating habits ill pull it off until I'm about 34.
