I went on vacation last week and took a break from boxing to heal up and be refreshed and also to enjoy doing things on vacation. I did a little treadmill running, ice skating, and swimming on vacation, and no doubt gained some weight, but I am going to work on getting back to what I was. I ran a couple miles and struggled with it last night on Friday July 31 and I did a good first 4 rounds of shadowboxing today and then struggled. So I'm just trying to get back into better shape, lose a few pounds, and improve my boxing. The good news is all my punches flowed together a lot better today. My left hook is being thrown a lot better as is my jab and right hand. Saturday August 2 8X3 shadowboxing 3X4 heavybag work 20 minutes of skipping rope.
Sunday August 3 8X3 shadowboxing 3X4 heavybag work I ran a mile or, I'm getting back into doing that. Monday August 4 8X3 shadowboxing I got back into weightlifting this day. I did incline bench, shoulder press, freeweights, and some more upper body machines. I skipped rope about 20 minutes or so, 3X4 heavybag work Tuesday August 4 rest Wednesday August 5 I ran my usual routine of 16 laps around my house, aka a couple miles or so. I did 8X3 shadowboxing, focusing emphasis on my left hook, I'm trying to devlop it more as it's not as developed as my right hand or jab. 3X4 heavybag work where I'm improving at landing my left hook on the bag where it used to be a struggle, also trying to consistently get my hipos into right cross shots.
Thursday August 6 8X3 shadowboxing 4X3 heavybag work with punches thrown at a higher workrate About 20 minutes of skipping rope with a rope that is shorter than I'm used to, it screwed up my timing bad because I screwed up about 10 or so times which is unusual for me but I made it through ok. Weightlifting Incline Bench, Benchpress, Freeweight Press above my shoulders, freeweight bench press, pectoral press, shoulder press, lateral press, abdominal crunch, chest press.
Saturday August 8 I ran a couple miles Sunday August 9 I did 8X3 shadowboxing with my new Everlast round timer. 4X3 heavybag work 20 minutes of skipping rope.
